Why didn’t anyone learn from the Canelo-SD negotiations?

    It’s the same story again.

Derevyanchenko will never get that kind of payday anywhere else! He should feel lucky to get whatever Canelo will give him! He’s an idiot not to jump on that offer! He doesn’t even have that much money in the bank! He’s not even worth a fraction of that, Canelo is being generous!

Derevyanchenko literally gets exactly what Canelo’s team offered to fight someone else days after the negotiations with Canelo’s team died.

Now GBP is lowballing Smith and Saunders, just like they lowballed Derevyanchenko. All the same people are howling about how ****** Saunders and Smith are for turning down the lowball offer.

    Why don’t we ever learn?

Not if they’re getting the same money to fight someone else.

Really? So a victory over canelo the the cash cow the star, and a victory over someone else... for the same amount of money is the same to you? I don’t think it is, a victory over boxing’s biggest star brings a better future.

So the once in a lifetime chance to beat the reigning superstar no longer have any value. Seems there's no more motivation to become one because there's penalty for it.

No wonder no offers are made to Derevyanchenko because he's become too expensive to get.

Is this what this poster wants?

            1. Dervy didn't get the same money canelo offered him. He got less money to fight GGG on a much smaller stage. They took less because they felt they had a better chance beating GGG then they would Canelo.

            2. Who is the backup fight all these guys are getting that will pay them as much as Canelo offer they turned down?

GGG and Hearn colluded with Dervy camp and were driving the price up DAZN had to pay Dervy. GB refused to play along anymore and moved on and got Canelo the fight he wanted from day 1 a better fight then Dervy. Let these fighters all gamble and try and get that canelo money else where. Canelo gets paid a minimum 35M no matter who he fights.

I think getting lowballed to fight the biggest draw in the sport is unappealing.

I think fighting someone else for the same pay and potentially gaining leverage in future Canelo negotiations is an attractive option when you’re getting lowballed.

If a Canelo offer never comes again, so be it. The fighter didn’t get taken advantage of and still has the same amount of money in the bank. Canelo’s team also looks bad for avoiding the fight and not making a proper offer.

Fighting Canelo isn’t going to Disneyland. It’s a job. If someone doesn’t get compensated fairly for it, they shouldn’t do it.

Derevyanchenko literally got an offer days later to fight GGG for the same money. So I’m not sure what you mean when you say he’s not getting offers.

                  1. He got like $100,000 less to fight GGG. It was the same pay. And it was worth it since Canelo’s team wouldn’t make a fair offer and a win against GGG (which Derevyanchenko deserved) would have been leverage against Canelo.

                  2. Smith and Saunders can fight each other, Jacobs, GGG or Andrade and get the same money Canelo’s team offered. That’s what happens when GBP is cheap and DAZN is ****** with money.

He didn't get the same money he ended up making less then the offer he turned down from Golden boy was 5.5M. less money smaller venue, less people watching for 1 belt instead of 3 belts, lineal status and all the boost your career gets beating the top guy in boxing.
