Are people allowed to use Canelo's SD win over Lara that many felt was a loss or put an asterisk by the open scoring UD over Trout that many though Trout was winning when the score was announced , which then changed how Trout fought the last 3-4 rounds?

If you want to be fair, be fair about all controversies, not just the ones that you can use to support your point.

Trout got his ass beat in open scoring & still did nothing,he was kd & bambi legged too.(that was a clear Canelo win regardless of detractors claims,but I said how haters discredit it & why, same goes for Lara who was heavily outlanded in power shots & Canelo basically broke the record for body shots by landing something like >90% of his pp as body shots (& 100%his punches were power punches)which is why its insane to give Lara pts for Literally running for his life scared after the 3rd rd from body shot accumulation despite him saying hed decapitate Canelo beforehand

(Lara got beaten clearly by unbiased scoring,under pro Boxing rules theres no credible way to say Lara came close to winning when the other guy did all the damage,landed cleaner punches at higher accuracy,& lara landed almost exclusively backfoot jabs while running.)

As I stated when you rate Floyds resume the way Canelos is somehow rated you come to the conclusion of what I wrote which is why I wrote the same thing about the Maidana fights that is said about canelo in the 1st ggg fight.

Whatever negative one applies to Canelo in 1st g fight to discredit him goes double for Floyd vs pillowgloved Maidana who is nowhere near the puncher g is & floyd fought much more defensively than Canelo did.

Your key points (which I pointed out) are completely flawed. Like PFP, FOTD is subjective where beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I admire Cliff for the amount of work and thought process he put into this. It shows he put in a lot of work to justify his rankings and belief and not just bloviate with an opinion. His scale, his rules backed by quantitative and qualitative analysis and justification.

Thee amount of work he put in this is admirable of course. It does not mean it’s an accurate measurement of the truth.

Take a look at this line:
Golovkin failed to secure showdowns with lineal champions Sergio Martinez and Miguel Cotto, either of which could have added to his final tally if he’d won.

Cliff is ignoring key facts. Cotto was never going to fight GGG and neither was Sergio. Sergio was pretty much done before he fought Cotto. His legs were long gone.

Also, Canelo for a while refused to entertain a fight with GGG. He even dumped a belt to avoid him. Even more important, I am yet to meet anyone who thinks Canelo won the first fight. But all that can be debatable I suppose.

My thing is that Cliff has the audacity to rank Canelo above Floyd!!! That’s sacrilege right there!
Canelo got beat by Floyd, arguably got beat by Lara and GGG. Lastly, Cotto gave Canelo a good fight and some observers had the fight a draw.

Lastly, Cliff’s argument about Floyd’s win over Canelo was that it wasn’t a UD! That’s just an idiotic statement to make. Canelo barely won two rounds at most.
