Eventually promoters and fighters are going to start cutting out these belts all together. With regular, super, interim, diamond franchise titles etc. (I'm sure I'm missing some) The belts are almost meaningless. Everyone is multi weight "champion" these days.

No the fk it isn't justified. No single boxer is bigger than the sport. The wbc shouldn't be giving guys free passes to avoid mandatories and be gifted a new made up title that they didn't earn and can't lose.

neither one is deserving. Nobody in boxing should get that type of entitlement. There were much better and more accomplished middleweights than Canelo is and they never got that type of wbc favoritism. Canelo has had 3 fights at mw, a controversial draw that he should've lost, a controversial win, and a close uneventful decision win. What makes him worthy of this made up middle weight franchise title?

Nelo has ONE loss & that's to T.B.E. pvssy-g can't box for shet.
