Comments Thread For: Arum: With Guys Like Canelo and Lomachenko, WBC Franchise Title Is Justified

Eventually promoters and fighters are going to start cutting out these belts all together. With regular, super, interim, diamond franchise titles etc. (I'm sure I'm missing some) The belts are almost meaningless. Everyone is multi weight "champion" these days.

“People want to see a Lomachenko. People want to see a Crawford. People want to see a Canelo,” notes Arum of the practice of elite boxers enjoying a separate set of rules. And as long as these guys fights the best fighters available, then who wants to burden them with mandatories that nobody is interested in?”

Idiots who fall for Bob arum's lies deserve whatever happens to them.
No honest boxing fan with even a little bit of common sense recognizes a completely corrupt bull***** "franchise belt". It's shameful that they even try to pull that crap. Is boxing going to become the WWE?
I give credit to Deyontay Wilder for openly rejecting and criticizing the wbc franchise belt.
The "franchise belt" is almost as ridiculous as when Oscar claimed he was considering running for president.

What makes him worthy of this made up middle weight franchise title?
