Comments Thread For: Deontay Wilder: I Was Very Disappointed in Andy Ruiz

WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder is shaking his head when discussing Andy Ruiz's one-sided decision loss to Anthony Joshua from back in December in Saudi Arabia. Ruiz shocked the entire sport when he dropped Joshua four times before the contest was stopped in the seventh round. Ruiz, who took the fight on late notice and was widely viewed as a massive underdog, captured the IBF, WBA, IBO, WBO world titles with the win.

Blame the money not Andy.It was the money that revealed his true self. All that money just made him lazy a compulsive eater and a party going attention whore.but like I said when the money runs out he'll be back on his grind lol

Andy is just a perfect example that the heavyweight division is nothing special these days, but at least it’s competitive. On any given day any of the top 5 guys in the division can beat each other. Andy showed he can beat Joshua, then Joshua showed he can beat Andy. Fury showed he can beat Wilder, but Wilder has a case that he can beat Fury with a big punch. Wilder showed he can beat Ortiz, but at the same time Ortiz showed he has what it takes to beat Wilder. At least it’s more entertaining compared to when Vladimir Klitschko was walking through everyone with the same routine.

I too blame Andy for not showing up in shape. But somewhere, it also comes down to his trainers and head coach also. Andy being in shape is one thing, but they were also lacking in game plan completely. Even an in-shape Andy (like in the first fight) would have lost to a moving Joshua.

Everyone talks about his fitness, but nobody talks about what the game plan was to fight a mobile Joshua? Its not like we saw a strategy where Andy's weight caused the problem....there simply was no plan for this type of fight. It seems they spent all their time practicing the same thing expecting the fight to be a repeat of what happened previously. Robles, it would appear, did not think such a thing could happen and had no alternate plan in place. Ruiz did not make any adjustments even during the match and just waited for AJ to tire so they could trade in the middle of the ring.

What was his camp advising him?

Wilder has no right to be disappointed in Ruiz after turning down the chance to fight AJ himself.

Matchroom interns are up and on the warpath! Their hero Eddie pays them in dianabol to troll boxing boards slamming Wilder while spreading propaganda about chickensht 2x PED cheat Whyte. The guy who ran from 2 eliminators vs Ortiz and Breazeale after Wilder said “fight them and win and I will face you, big mouth”. Oh and then Matchroom bribed BBBoC and UKAD to make his dirty piss “go away”. Too bad for Whyte that boxing fans know the score. Sorry Mr B sample
