the point is, even if charlo did say "no", its not a fight that cant be revisted in a couple of years or even 3....in fact by then, if charlo keeps winning, his position will have strenghtened

its not a situation where one guy is 27 and the other is 35...or one guy is 25 and the other is 32...theyre both right at the same age

these guys could both fight at 32 and it would still be fine.....as others have mentioned charlo is betting on himself....in a fashion similar to wilder....difference being wilder has a lucrative opponent before the big prize(AJ or canelo) in fury...

they have to keep winning...but both could stand to make way more down the line

look at wilder....even with the fury fight....wilder wanted an immediate rematch....arum stalled it and admitted that....it stands to be a bigger fight now than an immediate rematch would have been

Haymon does take care of his fighters by getting them the most money with the least risk. Business smart? For him and the fighters, certainly not the fans. Opponent quality can definitely be argued, but that's not the aim here; the viewing public will continue to see the build to interesting fights for Charlo, and as he continues to perform (assuming) the audience will grow with him.

Deontay Wilder is 10 defenses into his run as champion, folks weren't really with him at the start, but they've finally started to come around to his starpower. Time is time.

Wladimir Klitschko fell to basic US irrelevancy, made a damn fortune in Europe, and didn't shed a tear for any of it.

With his guaranteed deal with DAZN and guaranteed deal in Mexico (wouldn't shock me if his total guaranteed money per fight is now $40m-$45m); I doubt he gives a care about relevacy at this point.

I think we have to bear in mind that Canelo's fanbase is largely Latin and North American whereas the Klitschkos was European. Also, when they became irrelevant, the division went with them.

Yeah Charlo is being made too silly and less rich by taking Haymon's advise of turning down big fights similar to Wilder. Turning down Andrade and Canelo to fight average opponents is not a good look.

porters father has already publicly stated that theyve had the green light to make the fight......now crawford is the a-side...its up to him to make the call to get the ball rolling....the same way it would be for any a-side....

but bob arum went from saying they were looking at porter(before the mean machine fight) to doing a complete 180 and saying it wasnt something they were looking at a couple weeks later once kenny porter said they could make the fight

arum thought he could run his mouth about porter and theyd never hear a peep or porter would never get the ok...once he did then both crawford and bob stopped talking about him

I'm not quite sure if it's just bluster or not. You claim that there was an official offer. Not so sure but if Bud turns down good dough to fight Porter than that is certainly not a good look. Time will tell!

i didnt claim there was an official offer...what i said was kenny porter said they could make a deal....now its up to the a-side, crawford, to pick up the phone and make the offer....thats how boxing works

but both bud and arum did a 180 once they heard porter was free to make a deal....two weeks earlier arum kept saying porters name....once porter said he was free to make a deal they changed their tune very quickly


its up to arum/crawford to make the offer to porter....thats how boxing typically works...since crawford is the p4p entrant and holds a belt
