Hes got a hell of a fast ball but when you keep things in context hes no where near an all timer.
Deontay doesn't get the love or respect he deserves!

he should get more hate for not admitted he was outboxed and won a gift.https://<iframe width="560" height="...reen></iframe>
Hes the most exciting fighter, with his mega power punches.
He could be the hardest puncher of all time.
Hes putting his life and health on the line largely for our entertainment
He has unorthodox skills that go unrecognized ( for example Bruce Lee used a technique called attack by drawing, he draws them in by going back and then he comes forward as they come forward to deliver the KO)
But all the fans do is talk about him having no skill and there's no real positivity despite him being entertaining in a similar way to Tyson or Foreman, and all the boxing community (the fighters even commentators ) does is hate on him because he threatens them, or they dont recognize his skill.
Does this guy deserve more or what?
"but Fury was Ko'd" people that get legit KO'd don't get up and land punches looking fresh. It's a joke..if he was KO'd HE WOULD HAVE BEEN KO'd lol
Wilder got exposed on a whole new level in that fight. Who cares about his right hand he lands on 50 year old.
He's fought ortiz and stivverne like 10 times. It's a ****ing joke.
Usyk would murk him tooComment

I think it’s possibly too late now tbh. Wilder has already developed his style and you have to give him credit as despite his obvious flaws, his power amongst other attributes have always been enough of an equaliser to allow him to stay on top.Wilder is gifted too like RJJ just in a very DIFFERENT way.
Yep he needs some good coaches, some top level guys because his current trainer has watched him slap for years and has done nothing also he doesnt have a big proven name.
he's even beginning to think I cant have everything etc etc like he cant have skill, just power, yea he can, he does somewhat and hes bought into the negativity too muchComment

He hasnt changed much since this footage, hes still same now for his left
Sometimes its ok on the left most of the time the kinetic linking is fcuked, so thats a matter of hip control, being able to turn the hip on 1st, and all the way through the punch with the arm and upper body and midsection dragged behind the hips.
His upper body goes ahead of the hips at some point and the power is ruined, hes using his midsection obliques when they shouldnt be used at all to power the punch
Then the arm is doing a funky thing he should just keep it fairly close to the regular hook but at long range, then relax at impact, none of this whip motion with the arm.
The extra complexity of thinking about what your arm has to do AND what your body is doing tends to make you forget about your hips and body as you focus more on the arm, that is a big mistake and what you need to look out for as you train the long hook.
The secret to the long hook is relaxing at impact so it disconnects (for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction) but if you relax at impact all the force goes into them and none of it comes back because you disconnect form it before it has a chance to come back into your fist and arm.
Thats why most peoples long hooks are unremarkable and some people are KO artists with them, that extra power from relaxing at impact is the difference. Some fighters catch onto it most do not.
The ones that do catch onto it tend to over rely on the long hook because done properly its so effective, see Sugar Ray Robinson for an example of that (and Ken Norton, Tommy Morrison, etc)
(in MMA Fedor, Chuck Liddel, Igor Vochanchin)
Thats very valuable information to a fighter , you are welcome.Last edited by AlexKid; 01-25-2020, 11:03 PM.Comment

Honestly, go back and look at his resume, and tell me that he doesn’t get credit or respect. It’s full of bums, gatekeepers and cab drivers yet he will tell you that he’s the best and he’s fought the best. He has successfully avoided every single great boxer in his division for the last 5-6 years. There is no excuse for this type of cowardice. Not from a quote unquote “baddest man on the planet” or the “hardest puncher in heavyweight history”. He should have fought a prime Haye, Povetkin, AJ, Whyte, one or both of the Klitschko and at least half of the top 20 right now. Instead he chose to fight the Szpilkas, Washingtons, Areollas and the rest of the bums. That’s why he doesn’t get the respect, he is a bum beating fraudComment

He's been talking and setting the stage for himself for quite a while and people get tired of this if the fighter talks and then never gets tested, If he's in a war with Fury and Joshua and he steps up at these moments and gives us good fights, he's gonna be the most popuar guy in boxing, but before that he can't expect everyone to like him after talking so muchComment

Incredible power. He's underrated from a 'hit and don't get hit' perspective. He makes his gifts work for him. He's just not particularly orthodox.
The thing that gets me is people calling him 'exciting'. Is he? I think it's interesting watching the champion get outboxed and be behind on the cards. His power will also always keep fights interesting.
But is he actually exciting? He doesn't throw much. Doesn't engage much. Hopes he can land one shot. That's not exciting. 90% of each fight is pretty dull in terms of the action.Comment

I disagree.
Tyson Fury has lost the eye of the Tiger, he is civilized now 'A business man'. If he loses to Wilder he will behave the same why Prince Naseem Hamed did etcComment

When he gets cut or knocked down you see his eye of the reptile (the Tiger is in his reptilian brain when he gives you that look)Comment

IMO Stewart was one of ( if not the ) best coaches of his era.
And I totally agree with you about him being the perfect fit for Wilder. Even at this point in Wilder's career I think Stewart would've been able to Improve Wilder's style.Comment
