    Evander Holyfield and James Toney.

    Just kidding

Naseem Hamed, he realized one fight after being thrashed by Barrera that he hadn't it anymore.
    And also, Juan Manuel Marquez.

Did someone write a new book on one of these guys or some such?
I've heard that years ago from a documentary. If you'll look it up you may find that there was scuttlebutt about that. Kinda like Lewis getting offers even years later to rematch Vitali

Ward himself definitely left at the right time as well.
Timing was a factor but Joe could have come back if he wanted to. He didn't need to though. I would have liked for him to come back and fight Froch. Joe doesnt' get enough credit for the Hopkins victory and too much credit for the Jones decision IMO

Calzaghe once said that he briefly flirted with the idea of a Hopkins rematch but quickly changed his mind because his body was breaking down. It would have been nice to see him face Ward or Froch but you can't fight everybody so I don't fault him for bowing out when he did.
