Canelo isn’t replacing ggg. How can you replace someone inferior to you both professionally, monetarily, and in popularity? Anyway, it’s funny you mention ggg not taking the tough fights and that you try and blame canelo of doing the same... it’s not the same. Canelo will fight a champion, if not a top ranked opponent. Ggg is facing seremta... get real

He replaced Golovkin as middleweight champion. So what happened then? He fought a guy Golovkin beat, a domestic level nobody who'd already been stopped in a round, and a faded old fighter in Kovalev who'd been recently stopped, and nearly got stopped by a guy who'd never even fought at domestic title level. Golovkin just fought Derevychencko, but he's old and finished. Canelo is the biggest name in the game. So is it a young lion next? What happened to Charlo, Saunders, Andrade? He just bypassed them. Smith, Benavidez, Bivol, Beterbiev? Bypassed. Hey, if you think that's fun, enjoy. But you aint a fan of the sport, just the person.Comment

And I thought if Canelo takes Smith or Saunders he’s ducking another name???Comment

Very true my brother and let's not forget Cotto.
You gotta love Miguel but he had most of his success as a 140 pounder.
Cotto managed to beat a 1 legged dude for the MW title, but he had no business at 160.
Alvarez knew that this was his chance for a MW title and jumped at the chance to fight Cotto.
After winning the title he surrended the belt to Golovkin when he refused to fight him.
Smart match making is part of the game but the diva jumps around way too much, looking for the least riskiest fights.
"To be the best, you gotta beat the best".Comment

Why? For what? For the deciding fight to happen when he’s even more torn down? I thought we as fans live for feuds to be settled. Those young lions aren’t going to be 37 this year. They still are in their primes and can we honestly say Canelo is actually fighting anyone in their prime? He isn’t, hasn’t in eons either. Jacobs is about as close as that gets.Comment

Is that the sell, that Canelo KO's Golovkin?
It seemed clear to everyone that Canelo did much better in the second fight and that should have been sufficient for the changing of the guard.
I don't know maybe there's money there.Comment

Imo , he looks like he’s on his last leg and maybe should be considering retirement
I think financially he is stable and won’t be able to prove much more at this pointComment
