I understand where you're coming from and I also think that Margarito-Mayweather is a BETTER fight and a more lucrative fight. But Baldomir makes more sense RIGHT NOW. There are different schools of criticism, one says that Floyd never becomes "the champ" at any division. Well this will end that, and at the same time in no way prevents him from fighting Margarito. So from Floyd's perspecive its the best of both worlds, he is champion of WW and eventually makes a bigger fight against a guy some people think he is scared of. But as a fight fan I would rather see Margarito all I'm saying is it is hard for me to blame a man for wanting to maximize his potential financially (thats what I would do if I was him).

he could earn 8 million now, and then stack the millions from shane and oscar on top of that later, or are u assuming fightin margarito will make him less of a valuable commodidity? this won't happen unless he loses or is emberrased and he doesn't consider that possible, so what;s the problem.

PBF has nothing to gain in figthing marg. if he wins people say he beat a bum. marg should fight other contenders first in order to rise in the ranks.

If he doesn't fight Baldomir now, Baldomir will fight another big name and then retire (he has said that he only wants 1 or 2 more fights then wants to be with his family and he is 35). So if he takes the Margarito fight now he misses out on a unification which wouldn't be possible after he fights Margarito, Mosley, and DLH. That is what I was trying to say. unification of what? pbf floyd has no belts. WBC baldomir, WBA hatton IBF Suarez/Cintron (or smoething) WBO margarito. he won't be unifying belts, hell take the wbc and be the linear champ though he fought the guy leat people wanted to see him against, (except ibf but its not held by anyone yet).

I don't think anyone thinks he's a bum. People just don't know how good he is. Is he good enough to give Floyd Mayweather a tough fight? Who knows? He hasn't beat anyone to make me think so, but his size and style suggests he will. He needs to fight the other contenders to show us what he has.

...Seeing the punch is how you stay up in the first place. Baldo's fight went 9 rounds until Gatti was floored, Mayweather stopped him in 6 to a beating of a lifetime and would have DEFINATELY done the same thing to him if the fight continued. The Baldomir KO has NOTHING on that percision based 6 round massacre that floyd gave him.

Why do you only feel that certain opinions of others that are more than arguable are the ones that reflect "actual boxing knowledge". Everyone here watches boxing, why do you only look for people to agree with you rather than adjust to the fact that sometimes certain opinions are more valid than ones you agree with

Someone says that Margarito shouldnt have to move up in the ranks because hes been there for 10 years.

Others think he should fight a bigger name or a couple of bigger names first.

Which argument is more credible? They are both subjective and both of them reflect opinions of those who watch and follow the sport, so stop wait for your chance to agree with someone and actually accept the fact that different opinions are valid. Your boxing knowledge from what i have observed isnt exactly Tysonlike so just get with the program and stop calling others out like you know it all. Were all for the most part in the same boat.
