    Jones vs Calzaghe at 168?

I dont know if this has already been reported but Jones said that he may go down to 168 to fight Calzaghe if he cant get Johnson.

Who wins at 168? RJ use to be a monster there and could have alot of speed & power if he made weight but he's still older now and I dont like the ideal of him trying to lose even more weight after he just had all those problems and is finaly starting to look decent again.

Why not redo the thread with a public poll so we can look back if the fight comes off?

This fight would be a massacre at this stage of Roy's career, I'd stake 10bil on a Joe Blow KO, 5 bil that it comes within the first three rounds and 1 bil that it comes in the first.

If a slow, moderate-hitting Ajamu can wobble him in the first minute, imagine what Joe would do to him...

Roy was excellent at super middleweight. He had knockouts in all of his defences. But I don't think Jones can take on a great southpaw
like Calzaghe. He barely pulled out the upset in the first Tarver fight, since he had to dig down real deep to pull off the win. Even if I am a huge fan of RJJ, I would still cheer for him if he fights Calzaghe.

I don't know alot about Calzaghe. I havn't seen him fight too much, but I have heard that hes a pressure fighter who throws alot of punches. Roy at this stage in his career doesn't do well against a fighter like that, so I do think that Calzaghe would win by TKO/KO. I'd root for Roy since hes my favorite boxer of all time, but I don't think he would have much of a chance against a guy who constantly pressures.

Sign up to fight him, Roy. You're 37 years old, it's a great time to start fighting top level opponents.

Same here. Joe Calzaghe likes to slap more then throws knuckle punches as far as I know..

First off....you guys voting for Roy to win by K.O. really had me going for a minute.

Oh and BTW: This fight is meaningless.

Jones is done as a fighter, and he's going up against a guy who just put on the single most impressive victory I've seen.

Calzaghe is more of a ***** slapper than a puncher.
