Thoughts on Wilder and Fury’s recent comments

You do sound like a bit of a buzzkill type, but, yer an honorable **** so it's absolutely respectable.Seriously, what ever happened to being a gentleman?
Am I the only person who thinks they’ve both crossed some unspoken lines?
Wilder constantly making such a big deal about how powerful and scary he is and how he thinks “even God can’t save” Fury from his power [twitter post], or his comment in a recent article where he said that if he goes to fight in UFC he may kill someone (what is it with his murder fantasy, anyways?)
Equally nauseating for me was Fury giving us way too much information [in the press conference] about his unscientific attempt to increase testosterone levels naturally.
My thoughts to all of this are...
- What ever happened to being humble when you’re powerful, and showing some respect for God in one’s comments (whatever your beliefs, it’s an honorable attitude to respect other people’s views on God, respect their family, their ethnic group, etc.).
- When did it become okay to constantly talk about wanting to kill someone — that is not normal and should not be seen as a figure of speech.
- And finally please, don’t tell us what sexual practices you have and why. Seriously. We don’t want to know.
I may sound like I’m a prude and being overly harsh, but lack of manners and respect — not only in boxing but in our culture in general — is really annoying to me.
Does anyone else feel the same way?
When though? When the English took over boxing. Not being disrespectful to the English. It's like this:
In Greece and Rome boxing was a pagan ritual in honor of the god Apollo. So, while there is the character Theaganese during the late Archaic period in Greece the manner in which he dishonored the gods and was thereby fined was so nominal today we'd not bat an eye, he took such pains to beat his rival as to not be able to compete in other, nonboxing, events that he'd signed up for. Their speech, their conduct, it was religious, they were on their best behaviour.
Christendom did not box because of it is a ritual in honor of Apollo, and so after sometime it became known as Satanic as Satan took over as the bad guy in public psyche and Apollo was forgotten about.
When the renaissance and enlightenment rolled around in Europe it became super cool for aristoc**** from England to go to places like Greece to dig up things like dead gods and their rituals.
Our first account of an English boxing match to feature details of the match is from James Figg, but, we do have record of boxing taken place on the isle before Figg's time in the mid-early 1600s as a man named Richard Dover attempted to revive the olympics with an English spin.
Being Christians, of course the new form of boxing could not be in honor of Apollo so the early English Fancy they called themselve, backers, focused on boxing being a sport of honor that features representatives from regions in honor of that region.
A champion from say Liverpool is not necessarily the best man from Liverpool but rather a man representing Liverpool. Until around Figg's own era when Figg himself took pains to become champion of all of England. He did that by taking on champions from every region until no champion could or would fight him in that region.
Figg's first international challenge comes from Veneto. Figg declined the fight and actually retired and deferred his championship to his pupil Bob Whittaker who defeated the foreign threat and upheld English honor. That's how champion became hand-in-hand with best of a region or nation. The guys who would seek to fight for England's honor or against it would have to challenge Bob and so only the best from say Liverpool or London or where ever would be able to make that challenge because while boasting about why they should be able to fight the English champion they'd get their own challenges along the way and use those challenges as proof of their ability and rightful position as a legitimate challenger.
And so now Olympians are replaced by Champions and champions make their name and prove they are champion by speaking publicly and answering challenges that come from those public orations.
By 1780 you've your first public **** talker. Daniel The *** Mendoza. His bit was rubbing his "***ishness" into his English audience's noses because at the time they were anti semitic. It is the tale end of the Inquisition after all and while England is not Iberia it's not exactly friendly to ***s either.
He takes out space in local papers, issues challenges, insults "Englishness", charges for tickets to see his fights, a first, fights defensively, also a first, and mocks his opponents and their fans.
He was seen as a sneaky, cowardly, greedy, deceptive *** and he did take great pains to be as ***ish as he could be for the public that hated ***s.
From there the **** talker, the real deal, going out of their way to be crass, harsh, and unsavoury, was born along with promoting, ticket sales, and defensive boxing.Comment

Joshua calls the shots, Fury and Wilder need to dare to be great and go over to a US soccer stadium if they want the big $. If they want to remain protected frauds, keep talking about ************ and taking handpicked set fake fights.Comment

Not anymore. Most experts consider him #3 in the division and he's about to be stuck in mandatory hell while the two biggest heavyweight fights of 2020 won't involve him.
They're daring to be great by fighting each other. Most experts consider them the top two heavyweights in the world. Fighting each other is the biggest challenge.Fury and Wilder need to dare to be greatComment

As usual, you're lying. I never posted from an alt account, I never tried to get out of the bet with Robbie and while I personally never considered Fury the lineal champion because I never considered Wladimir the lineal champion, I don't get to decide that. The public accepted Wladimir as lineal champion and they accept Fury as lineal champion.Comment

What belt would they hold? They hold the franchise belt. That's the only WBC belt they will hold. WBC made their own championship belt worthless.
Joshua's mandatory is the guy who is mandatory. It's pretty straightforward. His mandatory failed a doping test and it wasn't his first time. While the failure was being investigated, a new mandatory was named. Wilder's mandatory is considered the best figher in the world. Joshua's mandatory is Pulev.
Wilder's is the guy he was already fighting in a voluntary defence with a rematch clause. He had a mandatory who was not banned. Very simple.
Whyte's clearance was for the media, not the fans. They never withdrew his mandatory for a failed test - who told them he failed a test? Certainly not UKAD or VADA.
I couldn't care less about Whyte but the WBC had no basis on which to do what they did.
There's no single 'real' title. Don't be so silly.Decades of purse bid results show it's the most valuable title. Fighters always talk of growing up dreaming of the green belt, nobody grows up dreaming of the raisin belt. It's the belt founded by the BBBoC and EBU. If the BBBoC is the real British title and the EBU is the real European title, then the WBC is the real world title.
They have enough scandals. Try the Wilder/Fury case above. That's scandalous. It's the only of the four titles without a bribery scandal. The WBA and IBF have been confirmed to have sold their rankings for years. The WBO was founded by the leader of the WBA's bribery operation.
Go on tell me Wilder's mandatories in his 5 years as champ. It's shocking isn't it? You're a boxing fan. How can you just accept this?Comment

yet you just claimed pac wasn't lineal champ when he has the designation whether or not you like it. partisan hack at it again. you see this is the problem with having 3 people sharing 1 account. 1 of those people is bound to be an azzhole. As usual, you're lying. You're lying again. Pacquiao vs Bradley was the top two in the eyes of many experts, but nowhere close to a consensus. So many respected publications didn't consider the winner lineal, but many also did. I offered no opinion.Comment
