i think the reason they haven't fought yet is hatton was ringside at the floyd-gatti fight and seen how good floyd's footwork is and would be hard to corner him and floyd would counter hattons attack with numerous shots. i could see it turning into the gatti fight all over again with hatton trying to land one meaningfull punch while gettin tagged left and right. but this is only my opinion.

I like Hatton and think he is a good fighter, but this is a terrible style match up for him. Hatton doesn't do well against good boxers with slick footwork like Collazo (I know Floyd isn't southpaw). Also Hatton doesn't have one punch KO power, he KO's through accumulation. If you have ever watched Floyd fight you know it is almost impossible to land a combination on him. Judah was able to land single punches here and there, and Judah is a lot quicker than Hatton. Corley is the one who hurt Floyd the worst with a huge uppercut, and Floyd didn't even go down... he regained composure and won. Floyd also has better ring intelligence and is a more diversified fighter. Hatton can only fight one way, while Floyd has many more options. Hatton would beat most of the guys at 147 and probably all at 140, but not Floyd. Styles make fights and the styles don't match up well here.

if hatton has seen how good floyds footwork is do you not think he would work on being able to corner such a fast boxer? thats more likely that hatton just saying "wow he has good footwork! ok screw that im not going to fight him because of it"

Thats the thing Mayweathers footwork wont matter in this fight because Hatton comes straight forward and should be able to bully Mayweather. To fight Mayweather you shouldnt look at Gattis performance considering how crappy Gatti fought Mayweather...

I think Hatton could come through but I dont doubt Mayweather could keep the distance which makes this fight so intriguing.

He definitely will work on cornering a fast boxer, but there really aren't that many guys that can emulate the combination of speed, footwork, and boxing that Floyd has. Ask Gatti... he was preparing for a fast Floyd, and after the fight he admitted that he didn't realize just how fast Floyd actually was.

The outcome of the fight depends on whether Floyd can hold the centre of the ring or not. If he goes to the ropes I think Hatton stops him somewhere in the last 3rd of the fight.

Which is perfect for Mayweather, because Hatton will get hit with everything but the kitchen sink. The way to beat Hatton is to beat him to the punch. He will back up every time. Collazo gave a perfect blueprint on how to beat Hatton.

Hatton is a far more dangerous fighter than Gatti though. Hatton will wear Mayweather down. Hatton got tagged a lot of times by Tszyu when they fought and walked through them all. He would catch up with Mayweather and KO him.

fair enough but theres always one person that can either by chance or by determination to learn to and work at it and just because floyd has such good footwork doesnt mean that other fighters have to as well to beat him, like it says styles win matches so if both fighters dvelope the same style whats the deciding factor? because gatti got destroyed by him i dont think hatton will go out there and try to do what gatti did i dont think hes that ******

Not exactly, Hatton isnt one of those fighters who come forward with their guard down...

I think Hatton will come forward and tie him up and push him back towards the ropes. The ref will break it up and Hatton will go inside to do his vicious body work.

Remember Hatton likes to fight dirty, so I dont doubt he will clinch him and bruise him up...Of course this comes down to the ref , if Nady is the ref you can forget about it and Mayweather will win because he will break them up in an instance...Another factor will be the ring size.
