Jimenez vs Crews Dezurn is made I think, that should be a nice one, then there's Savannah Marshall at the same weight for either of 'em (i just made a post yesterday about the psossibility of Marshall vs Crews before news of the Tigre fight came through) . But yeah, in general there just ain't the depth at the higher weights in the womens sport.

The Habazin fight was farcical TBH even given the depth limitations at the higher weight in the womens sport, but at the end of the day it's hard to be too mad:

Claressa got her 'record' which might help to raise the profile and popularity of the womens sport in the US.

Habazin got paid probably the highest payday she'll ever see, not bad for a Croatian street kid who slept in the gym.

Habazin earned a kinda of moral victory by surviving despite having no business fighting for 1 yet alone 2 titles and basically being set up as a sacrificial lamb.

I feel like they picked her thinking Shields could get a dramatic stoppage and go viral etc. Almost thought she was done in round 8 and 9 she basically stopped punching and was just surviving barely. I knew Shields on pts at +164 was a pretty good bet. She talked up that KO so much people actually bought into it.

yes... In fact, that poor Croation looked like a ghost in the pre-fight outings (as compared to Claressa)...

(I predicted that Shields would only beat her easily, but not by KO -- as taking into account that Shields holds no noticeable KO power...)

Yeah I thought she was crying before her walk out. She looked so nervous it made me nervous. Especially cause I wanted my payout from her moral victory of going the 'distance' like the first Rocky movie. HHAAABBBAAAZINNNNN (like Adrian, even has same amount of syllables lol)

. Indeed and it's a good fight, they timed it just right too, taking advantage of Shields publicity, I just honestly surprised I didn't pick up on it whilst I was poking around the women's records yesterday looking at potential opponents for Savannah.

Only thing I would disagree with you is that to my eye el Tigre ain't the only woman that fights like a man. Braekhus fights like a man to my eye, moves much more like a male fighter than most women, but like a male boxer rather than a puncher - precision over power.

Ain't seen enough of Jimenez to make a judgement but I guess we'll have a good look tonight and I'll try to do a little research first.

The depth of talent is so shallow it's embarrassing when they have 'World Titles'.
