As much as a scum bag Arum is he pays Crawford 3-5 mil a fight to take on unknown guys so boxers get paid until they hit ppv status than he start to take bigger cuts.

I'm not 100% but this looks pretty well planned and I have to guess that Arum figures he's got a good chance of either protecting Taylor from litigation or possibly paying Cyclone off.
Taylor has also signed a management agreement with MTK Global. I wouldn't be at all surprised if it was MTK who advised him to sign with Arum/ESPN and, for sure, it would have been MTK who negotiated his new promotional contract.

Josh now has the same management/promoter/network team as Tyson Fury.

It's a great move by Taylor. He will now find it very easy to fight the winner of Ramirez vs Postol for the undisputed JWW crown and if he decides to move up to WW after that, Crawford will be there, ready and waiting for him.

He is now being managed and advised by MTK Global, who seem to be a smart and well connected outfit.

taylor wasnt a matchroom fighter. matchroom did the wbss final with taylor vs prograis. that card was supposed to have Chisora vs Parker on it, when that fell through it did poor numbers on sky sports box office, the lowest in a long time esp for such a high calibre fight.
EH won't be bothered by not getting taylor.

Furthermore, he had to overpay Ramirez to make the Hooker fight, considering taylor wouldnt bring in any fans, why would he want to overpay again for the unification fight?

also, you think arum wants to work with haymon? that they're teaming up against EH? you realise that espn are only overspending to finish off the pbc in a context where they know dazn are around. if there was no dazn, espn would have looked at pbc and thought 'it's too risky/costly to compete with them'.
with dazn around, espn also know they can exert more pressure on the pbc.
signing taylor makes sense for them. there's the ramirez fight..and then they'll both move upto WW where they'll face Crawford.

I highly doubt the PBC is worried about espn exerting any pressure on them. Haymon has damn near most of the American fighters that Americans want to see. Arum only has two fighters (Crawford/Fury) that Haymon is intrigued with. PBC has most of the current and future fights that people want to see, But Arum has struck gold at lightweight and I would absolutely love to see TR and PBC mix it up from 130-140 lbs. Thats why I want to see Devin come back to PBC because those could be a series of great fights for years to come. PS sorry about the name 'ol friend

Glad to hear this. Taylor is a class act and talented fighter. If he fights in the big apple then I will most likely attend.

well i care about watching the best fights..but tr and pbc couldnt work together at WW..until forced to ie may-pac.
remember all the recycled pacquaio fights. arum only likes to work with other promoters when he has to....
pbc has a lot of fighters and the best in various divisions..but they are slowly losing ground..

the days of ppv in america are ending as you know.

Agree 100%. People can knock the Bobfather all they want but Top Rank has been around forever and is a well respected company. Would love to see Taylor fight at MSG!

Well sorry but I don't know PPV is over. I'm assuming you don't live in America which means you don't know either. But as the only mate between us that actually lives here let me tell you PPV is alive and well. The only company that's 'losing ground' (as if they ever actually owned any ground) is DA-ZASTER. They are running out of the gimmick fights like Canelo Kovalev. They're morphing into a breeding ground for you tube fighters. I heard they just announced on the Mikey Garcia vs Jesse Vargas card, the main event has been switched to Black Panther vs Tarzan in the battle of Wakanda. You say "espn are overspending to finish off the PBC"....WHAT THE HEC ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT??? ESPN/TR only have two American fighters (Crawford/Teofomo) that move the needle. 130-135 lbs are run by PBC/TR, 140 is now completely owned by TR and 147-154 is controlled by PBC. The 160 guys aren't even willing to fight each other. So trust me, coming from the colonies, DA-ZASTER isn't factored into the landscape at all over here. Eddie is trying his best to poach PBC guys, but without the other PBC guys to make natural American fights, it's an act of futility. Eddie NEEDS Haymon. Eddie needs (lower case) Bob. Bob, reluctantly, needs Eddie. Uncle Al could give a shyte about either one of them. But Al realizes that working with Bob (the guy that filed a bogus lawsuit against him which was subsequently thown out) has it's advantages. Al and Bob have Tank, GRJ, Teofomo, LSC, Loma, Commey, Mario Barrios, Abner, Oscar Valdez, Herring, Fortuna, Robert Easter jr, Adrian Broner, Jose Ramirez, Josh Taylor, Spence, Crawford, Porter, Thurman, Lippenets, Danny Garcia, Ugas, Ennis, Lara, Jrock, Hurd, Lubin, Trout, Eubank, korobov, tony harrison, Charlos, Caleb, Benevidezs, Marcus, Pascal, Badou Jack, Ruiz, Efe Ajagba, Wilder and all the other PBC/TR fighters. FQ DA-ZASTER.
