    How good is Josh Taylor?

This guy almost got blinded in one eye by an average boxer in Prograis and was gifted a home decision (I think Prograis nicked the fight by 2rds). And he’s yet to beat anyone in a very weak division and he thinks he’s the best thing since slice bread, lol.

I think the top 5 in 135 sparks him. I’d pick Luke Campbell to beat him if Luke Campbell moves up.

I like him. Be interesting to see how he'd fare at 147. I had him beating Prograis 115-113.

I thought he edged Prograis fair enough by a couple of rounds. I think hes very good, He seems really solid all round. He isnt a big puncher as such but hits hard enough to earn respect and make a fighter think twice about a few things. My main problem with Taylor is he is Scottish so by nature loves to scrap but hes not the best scrapper so he seems willing to throw his skill out the window to go toe to toe and put himself in more risk than is necessary.

I would class him as a b+ to A- level fighter. The skill level at 140 is not quite what it is in the divisions either side of it. If he was having to fight the likes of a Loma, Lopez or Bud or Spence he just wouldnt be good enough. Hes very good but hes not great. I am a big fan though, he is a very entertaining fighter. Sometimes too entertaining for his own good.

He’s very good and he beat Prograis fairly in a competitive fight

Also, he’s still only had 16 fights as a pro. He beat Postol after about 12 fights and Postol may be Crawfords best win

Taylor’s career has been very impressive for 16 fights, he hasn’t been protected.

Yeah he hasn’t fought any elite opposition but neither has Crawford and he’s rated very highly...

Well he's number 10 p4p so he's pretty damn good. He drew with Prograis on my card but him winning 7-5 is no issue with me.

I'd pick him to beat Ramirez and unify all the best. Then I hope he loses to Regis in a rematch.

Why do you think Regis is just 'average'? Prior to fighting Taylor he'd pretty much completely outclassed or simply destroyed everyone he'd faced. Postol is also a quality fighter - his outclassing at the hands of Bud speaks far more of Crawfords quality than it does of Postol's limitation.

So skillwise Taylor ain't on the level of Bud and hes probably even a little below Regis for my money but what he showed is that he's got a hell of a lot of dog in him... the dude just won't allow himself to be beat and that can take you a long way even without the skillset that Josh undoubtedly brings.

Course if you thought Regis beat him things are gonna look different to you than they did to the wide majority who just saw him outgritting Rougarou for a narrow victory, but whichever way you look at it I'm struggling to see him outside the top 3 at 140 and most of us probably have him at #1 or at worst possibly #2 behind Ramirez... though I think most will be looking to see how Ramirez deals with the now aging Postol to get a more complete picture.

Won the the super series and has only had 16 fights... I don’t know what’s not to like about him, who’s left to fight, the guy who didn’t fancy the tournament

He has too much for Campbell and would be too big for Loma

People on this board have a tendency of overrating him. When you look at the size differential of the two between himself and Rougarou; He couldn't put away a small undersized Super lightweight in Regis Prograis. He made that a razor thin close fight.

The guy just hasn’t shown enough to make me rate him highly as a boxer. Prograis should have won the fight easily if he hadn’t been more in showboating than letting his hands go. And he gassed out in the middle rounds.

Also, JT takes too much beating for him to last long in the sport. He’s always open for a big shot and would get brutally sparked once he’s in the ring with anyone who can ****. Prograis who isn’t known for his power almost blinded his eye, imagine what Lopez, Loma, Haney and even Commey would do to him if they were to move up.

I’ll rank Ramirez as 1 because I don’t think JT’s style can beat a Mexican. Ramirez is gonna left hook him to death. People need to stop blowing smoke up his arse.
