Alvarez simply refused to fight Golovkin in September. After two razor close 12 round battles, it was the most anticipated fight of the year (with the possible exception of Ruiz vs Joshua II) but the diva walked away because he "didn't like Golovkin." lol
Instead, Canelo gave up his Sept date, vacated his IBF MW title and chose to fight a diminished and vulnerable Kovalev.
The Russian was coming off a grueling fight and a short camp and was a heavy underdog, where as Alvarez had enjoyed a 6 month "drug test free" vacation.
So the diva's got one decent win this year against Jacobs and Danny's a guy who has lost every time he's stepped up in class.
That's hardly a great year despite the hype.

I would try to argue with you but your crystal meth induced rant has more holes in it than the Iraqi navy. Name any figher in boxing right now? I guarantee you we can pick apart their entire careers.

Since you think you know boxing and like to put LEGIT LHW's CHAMPS down. Clown answer me on this.

How many reigning middleweight champions have won a light heavyweight title?

Most of these idiots on here don't understand facts or knowledge bro. Just a bunch of lames that just hate and are to ****** to understand greatness. Let me throw this fact out so that these morons can understand. Canelo has beat sixteen world champions. The same amount as Crawford and Lomochencko combined and he's not even 30 years old.

Yeah I hear ya! But truth and FACTS still make for GREAT anti-troll spray...I give them out to all my friends at X-Mas. I bet that dope can't answer my question I asked her.

Yahoo Top 10 pound for pound boxers of the past decade.

                      1. Floyd Mayweather, Jr.
                      2. Andre Ward
                      3. Vasyl Lomachenko
                      4. Canelo Alvarez
                      5. Terence Crawford
                      6. Chocolatito Gonzalez
                      7. GGG
                      8. Manny Pacquiao
                      9. Naoya Inoue
                      10. Oleksadr Usyk

Breadman - Great trainer and boxing mind.

                      1. Floyd Mayweather
                      2. Andre Ward.
                      3. Manny Pacquiao has to be #3. #8 is way too low. He only lost to 2 ATG in the decade and he did better vs Floyd than Canelo did.
                      4. Canelo Alvarez
                      5. Vasyl Lomachenko
                      6. Chocolatito Gonzalez
                      7. GGG
                      8. Terence Crawford
                      9. Monster Inoue
                      10. Sergey Kovalev. I know everyone craps on Kovalev right now. But he was one of the best fighters of the decade for longer and higher profile fights than Usyk. He also held Ward almost even for 24 scored rounds. I love Usyk and it’s close but Kovalev had bigger wins and more of them.

                      I like both a LOT!!!

But agree with Pac needing be at #3.
And Kovalov #10. Kovalov was a NIGHTMARE at LHW. And only loses are to the #4 and $7 on THESE same lists. Usyk had a GREAT couple of years but he started in 2013 and didn't start making waves until 2017.
