For 'Money' Mayweather, this is the correct answer.

So...Floyd waited for 6 years to fight Manny...which was actually Manny's fault (Freddie Roach) due to refusing the drug testing.

Mayweather fights and soundly beats a clean Pacquaio.

Now, FIVE YEARS LATER, you want Floyd to fight Manny again simply because you bought into Shouldergate.

So first it was, "he waited until Manny got old", now it's "come on Floyd, fight an EVEN OLDER Manny!"

Do you understand that people like you are the answer to the question asked in this thread? You are so hell bent on even remote chances to see the guy lose that you completely abandon logic.

When you look at those numbers it's amazing. More so because boxing is a fringe sport. Mayweather cleverly packaged, promoted himself and cultivated a rapid fan base. He kept himself officially undefeated and boxed circles around some fighters that were expected to give him a challenge. If he wasn't a boxer he should be an advertising executive. LOL..

            "Fan" is short for fanatic.

Has nothing to do with liking a person or not.

Floyd realized this at some point in his career (probably around the Gatti fight, but definitely by the time he bought out his contract).

He realized there was a whole urban hip hop culture boxing was largely ignoring and that he could attract many more fans- those who liked the image AND those who detested it- if he played the heel by adopting that culture.

Thus, "Money" was born. Pretty Boy was humble, was trying to be another Sugar Ray or Golden Boy. Money didn't give af about being thought well of, Money was Ali style trash talk on steroids, was sickeningly confident to the point of vanity, and dressed and walked around like a rapper.

Whether you paid because you liked Money or you paid because you wanted to see Money get what you thought was coming to him, you paid and you were a fan.

And him staying undefeated (and most importantly, making things look easy while doing so) only added to the ranks on each side.

They'll be studying what Floyd did in business marketing classes 50 years from now or even more.

He had a vision and pulled it off spectacularly.

Floyd was a genius for that. His fights weren't must see, but you had to buy the PPV cause you knew it was a big event. Wether you wanted to see his lose or win, it was always great night for boxing. Never been a fan but I respect Floyd for his work ethic through the years. When I see the Floyd wannabes nowadays that dont make weight and dont take the game serious, I laugh. Respect.to him from a non fan lol

That De La Hoya 24/7 was a game changer for him. He sold himself as the villain and people tuned in to see if someone could shut him up. Then the Pacquiao fight being talked about helped them both as people wanted to see if those fights would lead to the matchup we all wanted.
Too bad the fight didn’t happen in 2010. In 2015 Pac was 3 years from getting brutally KO’d by Marquez and wasn’t the same fighter.

How did he do it? He wasn't the flashiest fighter, not the most articulate, not the most charming. How did he become the richest boxer and possibly athlete in history?

Great marketing. He knows when to time his fights. He knows how to hype them up when he fights them.
                    He knows the dates.
Everything Perfectly engineered to make him look great and like he’s fighting them at their primes and their absolute best.

                    Floyd does his homework.

Floyd wont lose, he's rigged to never lose. WWF fraud.

When Pac agreed to Floyd's absurd blood demands the day before the fight - what a ***** move - Pac said okay. Then when Pac agreed to the bluff, Floyd said, No he won't do business with Arum. Check the Fraudweather wiki page.

You were brainwashed by the protect floyd propganda.
