The haters have hated for 5 years and Wilder is still the champion.

A reporter asked when Wilder and Klitschko would unify, and Finkel, being the manager of both of them, knew 2016 was the absolute soonest they could legally unify as they were bound to competing networks until then.
So doing what any competent manager would do, he tempered expectations, and reasonably explained why Wilder would take a couple quick defenses before setting his sights on Klitschko. Just like Joshua did.
KLITSCHKO HAD ALREADY SIGNED TO FIGHT JENNINGS BEFORE WILDER BECAME CHAMPION.
When exactly did you want this unification to take place?Comment

First of all, he was 29. Second of all, he didn't pick up a pair of boxing gloves until he was already an adult. Barely had any amateur experience before going pro. Had to learn on the job.

He could have fought Klistchko instead of Duhaupas in late 2016.
So a bronze medal winner and 29/30 years old world champion is a baby prospect... give me a break. Go away with your bull shiet. I thought you had left this forum.Comment

Wilder has been the world champion of the entire sport of boxing for five years now. The unified NYSAC/IBU/NSC heavyweight champion of the world, tracing back over a hundred years. He's made ten successful defenses and next month he attempts to become the lineal world heavyweight champion as well.
Is this why he is so hated? Nobody expected him to come this far, so everybody feels ****** for assuming he would fail?
Sure the trolls will cry and say he's protected or hasn't fought top fighters, but Boxrec proves that's complete bull****. Until recently, he was #1 in the world in the computerized rankings and even now he is #2. Which would be literally impossible if he'd been protected and hadn't fought top fighters. The Boxrec computers don't care about belts or hype. They just analyze the results of every fight on the planet and assign points based on your level of competition.
If Wilder knocks out Fury and becomes the lineal heavyweight champion of the world, what will the haters say then?Comment

Wladimir would have been a TV free agent, all mandatories would have been clear, and Finkel wins no matter what as he controls both sides. Clearing the mandatories is critical because it allows you to do a rematch or even a trilogy without belts getting stripped along the way.Comment

But the facts clearly show that Wilder has never ducked anyone. Forget about who you like or don't like and just use some common sense. When both guys are on the same side of the street, when has the B-side ever ducked the A-side? Has never happened in the entire history of boxing. Wilder had so much to gain and so little to lose by fighting Joshua. Joshua had so little to gain and so much to lose by fighting Wilder. Should tell you all you need to know about which side was more eager to make the fight.Comment
