In Texas its a Misdemeanor to carry impaired. Most states have similar laws whether its a carry or non carry state.

I know a few CO's that almost lost their jobs for that reason.

Yeah, I mentioned in another thread that my homie down in Detroit has a CCW but whenever we would go to the bars, we would always swing by his place first so he could drop off the biscuit. Just not worth it.

Now please explain to my Canadian ass if a Misdemeanor is really bad, or just a slap on the wrist.

I know up here, you can catch a DUI for being in your car drunk, even if the engine is off.

Depends on the state really. Id fair to say a Misdemeanor in a State like mine (CA) would be a felony in Canada. lol! My bro in law is LAPD, they hand crack rocks back to crackheads because a Misdemeanor ticket/arrest isn't worth the paperwork and court time.

But a Misdemeanor typically is an offense thatll get you no more than 1yr in county jail. BUT there are some misdemeanors that can get you on the sex registry for life too, so...

Well yeah, Any gun crime up here you're ****ed...even for a legal owner like me, if I blasted someone who broke into my house I'd be ****ed. Canada is backwards.

They’ll say there is intent to drive
Happened to a friend of mine , crashed in the back seat , sleeping it off
Cops showed up , woke him up , when searched discovered the keys and was arrested for DUI
Lawyer said he should of hid the keys outside the car , onl6 if he’d known that
