im sure floyd is not around much...but i guarantee he checks in via phone/facetime from time to time...floyds always kinda been like that.....i remember back in the day when ward was in the super 6 and floyd would call up ward before ward was about to go out to the ring...just to say whats up and wish him the best....floyd def checks in but is probably not around him personally very much....but he really might wanna have tank come stay with him for a week or two(willing to be this has already happened at some point) and tell him/show him what it really takes to get to the top and stay there

i really dont get it....yes the weight thing is obviously a concern...as his the overall focus.....as others have mentioned....he could end up being zab or broner if he doesnt start taking notes on how floyd treated any and every guy like the guy coming to take the food off his plate....taking nothing for granted

but it just seems that everyone expected something different...like a stoppage in under 5 rounds...and when it didnt happen the only logical answer they could come up with is "Davis is trash".....

pretty much everybody expected the new england patriots to beat the miami dolphins on sunday...they were double digit favorites....the dolphins won....thats why they dont play games or hold fights on paper...sometimes thing happen

i still dont get it....was tank getting tagged? was he not landing? did he not knock the guy down and land some good shots? was he having a hard time finding gamboa with his punches? it didnt appear that way to me....you guys just didnt the result you expected....so the feeble minds response is something must be up......its boxing...things happen or dont happen....
I’m wondering the same thing people acting like gamboa deserves a win or something or gomboa got robbed tf???

it would be one thing if davis really "struggled"....like he couldnt find gamboa...or was getting tagged alot....or didnt drop gamboa once......or lost some rounds

none of those things happened....yet somewho davis is "garbage" now lol....like any time a guy doesnt stop a guy within the frame you think he will he automatically becomes garbage

gamboa was just had more heart and guts than most thought....its sports...the unexpected happens quite a bit....these guys just cant fathom why the result they expected didnt happen imo

He didn't look bad, but he didn't looks spectacular, other than the KDs, which should've happened with his repertoire. He does need to work on his discipline, and work ethic, and focus on his training, and conditioning if he wants to get in the ring with a guy like Loma, and actually win.

Still a fan of the guy, because he is exciting, and finishes fights.

I've largely ignored Davis' career because I know he's "young" and will be matched carefully, regardless if he has a belt. Gamboa was the wrong time to have a off night because it only serves to highlight his careful match-making. Gamboa is his second step-up (first was Pedraza who he performed better against), but Yuri is just a "name" who's no longer a big threat. Now he's calling out LSC, which would be another high-reward/low-risk opponent. I get that they're trying to build him into a household name before his resume is actually top-tier, but his waning focus/discipline implies that his matchmaking is causing complacency. He isn't fighting opponents who will force him to mature; he's plowing through opposition relying mostly on his physical attributes (power, speed, southpaw stance). Every word I've heard from Davis makes me believe that he's becoming spoiled by his circumstance. The worse thing for young fighters is to believe your own hype. He needs that "reality check" opponent and soon.

              I'm just keeping it real.

Would love to see him become a great fighter but he seems to have lost his way. Someone needs to pull him aside and talk to him, and he has to listen.

I agree. It was a very disappointing performance by Gervonta Tank Davis. I expected a knockout within three rounds but a win is win. It was not like he was in any kind any trouble or danger or anything and neither should he have been because Gamboa was a setup fight. He was cherrypicked because they thought he was an overmatched, low risk and washed up fighter who's better years were behind him.

As a fan you should want any boxer to be a great fighter. I could give a *** less if a fighter is white like me i pull for any fighter. And in all honesty I’m hardest on the ones I like most.

With Tank, they just going to milk dude and give him soft touches until the well runs dry, since he has a little following so far, then cash his ass out. Imo he’s reached his ceiling. This is as good as he’s going to get.

The ones in the know, know his clock is ticking. Why do you think they pushing for a PPV now. So they might as well milk it as much as they can. Because the minute he steps up to one of the true top dogs he’s done. And no Santa Cruz is not a top dog.

Well said. It's too bad every Tank fan can't be as rational as you.
