Apparently you don't understand how sanctioning bodies (other than the IBF, who treats everyone the same) operate with the big stars. They don't send them unannounced letters with firm demands like they would with a no name fighter. They go to them and say, "it's been so long, you have to finally fight your mandatory or give up your belt, how do you want to handle it?"

As always, when told he has to fight his mandatory, Canelo vacated. He's not going to give 30-35% to a mandatory. He's always going to give up a belt rather than do that.

Are you really that ******? Why would Canelo give up his world title if he was willing to fight Charlo? Use your brain please.

the fight was never PUBLICLY ORDERED out of respect to canelo. which is why instead of canelo telling the WBC to **** off like he did last time, they were able to privately work out a compromise so everybody could save face.

but canelo was absolutely told time was up and he has to fight charlo or vacate and he chose vacate.

i guess for some reason you think he vacated for the hell of it and not because he didn't want to fight his mandatory?

If I was in Canelo's shoes I would prioritize opponents using the following criteria:

Best for Biggest Money, Best for Resume, Best for Record to break.

DAZN's business model breaks best for biggest money because Canelo's pay is predefined.

Now that he doesn't have to worry about trying to make the fights that generates the most money he seem to now only care about record breaking and seasoning his resume with big names.

                Fielding, Kovalev for Record Breaking
                Jacob's for seasoning Resume.

I'm assuming Canelo's next opponent will be a SMW to solidify his claim to holding a title in SMW.

As for Charlo, the question is where does he sit in the scale of best name recognition sorted by least lvl of difficulty. Out of the follow possible opponents where would you place Charlo:

Derevyanchenko, Charlo, Andrade, Eubank, Saunders, Plant, Smith, Benavides, beterbiev, Bivol, Fornling and possibly Munguia or Crawford.

I'm honestly not 100% sure what the plan for Jermall REALLY is. He's been at 160 for over 2 years and I dare to question if Jermall himself or Al have ever made any attempt to make that fight. I personally feel it has to do with the fact that Al Haymon / PBC would have to concede to Canelo / Golden Boy being he's the "Cash Cow" with a proven Box Office. Al NEVER plays 2nd fiddle to anyone when it concerns his "Major Players". I also feel they've done a piss poor job promoting Jermall (in particular) by not putting him in front of more faces and better match ups to get the Casual Public's attention. So instead of fighting Canelo (which Al and WBC likely knew all along) they conveniently granted Jermall "Full" WBC Champ status. The only fight I'd some what would still like to see is him and GGG but even that being said GGG would still be the A-side with a proven Box Office himself.
