In other words he wanted a catchweight so he could outsize Floyd and couldn't meet Floyd at his weight. No problem. Except...
I see. So Floyd called him out TWICE and Mosley had an excuse each time. Okay. And lost in this shuffle is Mosley's problems with HGH (which Floyd put on display during the pressers).
"At the end of the day", Floyd was the one doing the call outs, Mosley was the one avoiding. It wasn't until "Money" Mayweather that Mosley started screaming for that fight.
Come on. You're better than this.
Mayweather was the A-side. B-side fighters don't get to call splits. And Manny wasn't making anywhere near the money Floyd was making, so why would he deserve 50%? That's just blindness about Manny's standing at the time. When you're the B-side, you accept what the A-side offers and beat them so you can become the A-side. Which is what Floyd had to do against De La Hoya for the same reason.
Mayweather didn't want to fight anybody that would have no positive impact on where he wanted to be. Cheato had no benefit to him except to the 'eye test' pundits. You're using hindsight to justify that when you know full well that at the time, Cheato's resume was garbage and was sparking the B-level. He was then what Crawford is now - a good fighter that sparks B-levels. And for the same reasons, people wanted Floyd to face the latest 'eye test' whether that be Cory Spinks, Margacheato or pre-De La Hoya Manny.
Nah. Mayweather refused that fight because he didn't want to have his opponents dictated to him anymore by someone (Arum) who was clearly trying to get their 'eye test' fighter over. Had Cheato sparked out Mosley, Floyd would have turned to Ellerbe and said "Make the DAMN fight". Instead, we saw what happened.
