But things change, and Horn got beat. Duran got the better of Ray Leonard but got obliterated by Hearns. Duran was #1 and then lost it to Hearns who lost it to Hagler who lost it to Leonard. The thing is, we as humans are biased and base our assessments on so many things, true or untrue, that we need a north star. You hear guys debate decisions all the time. I thought Thurman drew with Manny at least, but that doesn't matter. The judges saw it different regardless of Thurman saying he was at 50% or Manny saying his shoulder was shot against Floyd.
Under no situation can I find warranting Jeff Horn as #5 P4P.

That's essentially saying that, all weights equal, Jeff Horn would have beaten someone like Jermall Charlo. Or Carnelo. Or Deontay Wilder. Come on, it's not realistic - for the same reason I can't justify it for Crawford.

I can't disagree with that, because Horn was beaten twice after. I can't disagree with someone saying Usyk > Ortiz either until Usyk gets beat. The eye test and intuition might say otherwise about Usyk, but it's only proven when it is. I don't always agree with Boxrec but I always use them as the standard, because I believe they weight the record of the fighter better than the others. For e.g. I'm not surprised that ESPN ranks Loma as #1 and Ring Canelo as #1. Good discussion though

Even if I disagree with a few, there is still the statistical evidence which often conflicts with anecdotal. I have seen a few clips of Joe Louis and of Ali...before my time, but if I were to judge those guys I would use their victories, who they fought and some anecdotal evidence to come by my conclusion. Evander Holyfied I did see, and his accomplishments from Cruiserweight to Heavy, and who and how he fought are legendary. I would probably put Lewis ahead of him, but Lewis was 6' 5 and really heralded the age of the super heavies
          Lol!

Holyfield is nowhere near a top 3 heavyweight. That's my point.
What he did at CW is also irrelevant. Boxrec is shyte as far as actual ranking go which is why absolutely NOBODY with any real boxing knowledge EVER sites them as a credible ranking source.

          That should tell you something.

Oh, speaking of Usyk, B @ x rec has him ranked as the #19 all time heavyweight after one fight with Witherspoon

            Real credible source , huh?

where would you rank him and what would you use to compare him with Marciano?

hes surrounded himself with yes men who tell him hes the best fighter in the world whilst his promoter spoonfeeds him limited opposition. hes gassed on his own hype. once they put him in with a real welterweight who has turned up to win and can fight, hes not going to be able to hand it because hes not used to it.

I admire Crawford, and I thought his performance after being rocked by egis was reminiscent of what Floyd did to Mosely after he was rocked, only Crawford's was way more dominant. He responded the way the "boss" should respond. However, for his denials, I'm putting him on a watch. He may have been able to bully Horn and Egis, but Danny G, Porter and Thurman are different animals.
                      No. They aren't.
