Fair enough. I didn’t see the weigh ins. I texted my brother that he looked fairly big, he is 5’10” after all, and he’s not skinny. He told me that Ortiz needed two tries to make the weight. So do u know if they re-calibrated the scale to be more accurate for the second weigh in? Or did they bring in a new scale? I have no problem believing that the scale could be off. But unless they actually adjusted it after, then I have to believe the fighters actually did lose the weight. The guy weighing them could have played it a bit fast and loose the second time to make the fights happen of course. It could be a not very accurate scale too one way or the other. But if a lot missed the first time, and they easily made it the second time, what actually did happen inbetween? Don’t get me wrong I hope he actually made weight easily. I like this guy. We may never know. We will see what happens moving forward.

Vergil said he weighed himself before leaving to the weigh-in and he was half a pound under the limit on his scale. When he got there and stepped on weigh-in scale he was 1 lb over. Now normally I might not believe a fighter when he says that except half the fighters on card all were over and all complained that they were under on their scales too. Every fighter easily made weight on the second time not sure if they fixed/recalerbated/replaced the scale or just made each fighter lose the additional weight to compensate for the scale. But Vergil needed only 15 mins and when he came back not only was he on weight he was a full quarter lb under the 147 limit.Comment

Solomon isn't a bad fighter and Ortiz looked clinical in his destruction of a slick boxing styled opponent. Look forward to seeing him as he develops and grows. Very impressive.Comment

He didn't struggle to make weight. Half the fighters on the entire card missed weight on the first try because of a bad scale. Everyone of the fighters and their camps complained about the scale and every fighter easily made weight on the second try. Ortiz came back 15 mins later and not only made weight but was officially 1 quarter lb under. You don't go from being over 1 lb and then go under 1/4 lb in 15 minutes if you are having weight problems.
Verg took the easy leak he had postponed for an easy weighin.Comment
