Being ranked 27th is the definiton of a fringe contender. He had no shot at beating a young prospect in a higher weight class with a significant size advantage.

In Orozco 30 pro fight career he has fought at the 140 limit in just 6 of those fights. All the rest have been in the welterweight division and not including the about 3 title eliminator and secondary title fights that we're cancelled because he couldn't make the 140 limit. 11 of Ortiz's 15 Pro fights have been at 140 or lower almost double the amount of fights at 140 in half the career. Only 2019 did he move up and starting above 140 and fought Orozco just 7 months after making the move . So STFU if you don't know what you taking about Orozco has been too big for 140 his entire phuking career. Ortiz just became too big for 140 this year. There was no significant size advantage.

I am impressed with Ortiz, hard to believe he is only 21.

Orozco was usually 1-2 pounds above 140, like every other jr. welter who fights in non-title fights. He was fighting jr. welters and fat lightweights. That doesn't make him a welterweight.

Yep. The guy told everyone that he believed the first knockdown was caused by a trip. How classy is that? My only concern is, that despite a good trainer, being humble, being hungry, being young, he struggled to make weight. I’m assuming he did everything right, but he’s a big body, so staying at 147 might no be possible for long.

You're hyping Bes***** like he beat great competition but only recognizable name on his resume is Breidis Prescott who is career lightweight, ranked in the 500s when Bes***** fought him. Lmfao. Since you're so critical of Ortiz, post Spence, Thurman, Porter, Garcia, and Crawford's resume at 21 years old. Let's see if we know any of the names.
I'm not hyping Bes*****, but you must be an imbecile to think beating a bunch of no-hopers for the WBA's secondary of a secondary of a secondary world title looks better on a resume than beating the undefeated WBA regular world champion. If he's gonna drop names of elite welterweights he needs to at least prove he's at the championship level.

Why wasn't Ortiz the man you say is bigger not usually fighting a "few" lbs over 140 for his first 11 pro fights which were all non title fights? And when you can't make 140 and are a "few" lbs over what division are you fighting in? And he had 3 major fights get cancelled that were title fights and title eliminators why didn't he make 140 weight for those? And the question wasn't was Orozco fighting welterweights the question is Orozco significantly smaller then Ortiz like you said and the answer is no. And he has been too big for 140 for years. He was the same damn size as Ortiz and Ortiz fought him just 7 months after moving up to welterweight division for the first time the same division Orozco has fought 24 of his career 30 pro fights at. And 6 fights over 1-2lbs from the 140 limit so save the BS that he was signficantly smaller then Ortiz

He didn't struggle to make weight. Half the fighters on the entire card missed weight on the first try because of a bad scale. Everyone of the fighters and their camps complained about the scale and every fighter easily made weight on the second try. Ortiz came back 15 mins later and not only made weight but was officially 1 quarter lb under. You don't go from being over 1 lb and then go under 1/4 lb in 15 minutes if you are having weight problems.
