Hunter (and Usyk) are both good fighters, no doubt about it. The only questions being asked here are..do they have the power, height, and reach to deal with elite HWs?

To date, they both haven't shown anything significant even against a top 15 HW let alone a top 5. If they do, light HF did, of course people will change their opinion.

Why exactly should Whyte give Ortiz a payday?

Ortiz brings nothing to the table, he is known for being stopped by Wilder twice, outside that he doesn`t even fight any good competition.

Not forgetting his fight with Povetkin was tremendous. He's one of the rare fighters who really comes to fight in the HW division and always goes for the KO. I keep seeing people refer to him as a mid tier cruiserweight. If Uysk wasn't in the divsion, Hunter would have been the man.

And jeez why so horny for Ortiz?? Who exactly has he stopped in the last 4 years? Hunter would put that dude to work, Povetkin had the heart to fight back, I very much doubt Ortiz would.
Yes. Hunter, Povetkin, Parker rematch, Rivas rematch. All better choices than Ortiz.

I don't get how people can't see it?

Whyte doesn't need Ortiz. I'll acknowledge that a Ortiz is a dangerous fighter... so why fight him if you'll get no credit, he'll bring no supporters, and he'll do nothing to hype the fight?

Whyte could simply take a keep warm fight. Find him a warm body to get in shape for. If he takes Povetkin then good on him - it's a half decent fight.

              Ortiz has just been sparked

Povetkin had a draw with a very good fighter

He's calling out the more proven fighter and the one who didn't get KOd in his last fight. Stop whining

Povetkin is the more proven fighter, will go down in history as a much better fighter. A much better name to have on a resume than a guy that has done nothing.
You've clearly forgot Ortiz great win against Kauffman recently. Shame on you.

He said Ortiz ain't fought nobody...he can't when and everyone else will duck him. Dillian Whyte is OK going with a guy that got a draw to a low-ranked Cruiserweight but not willing to fight Lius Ortiz.

                  You wonder why?

Obviously, Ortiz is more skillful and can punch harder than Povetkin who barely survived an onslaught. Povetkin caught Hunter with clean shots but couldn't knock him down or out.
Whyte called out Ortiz years ago when both were under Matchroom.

What did Ortiz do as a response? Sign with Haymon.
