and? Are you now trying to claim stopping a fighter is better than dominating him throughout a fight. Sure you want to go down that road as a Mayweather fan Larry?

**** like this that exposes you as a flip flopping hypocrite. Larry used to be all about skills, now he's changing to stopping a fighter means more. GTFOH.

If Ruiz was prepared for this fight i don't know If AJ could have pulled it off.

I know AJ wouldn't stand and trade, I saw he was able to avoid it Saturday and I was impressed. But if Ruiz cut off the ring a bit and piled on some hard body shots, could AJ have kept on his bike. Guess we'll never know.
You may be right and as you say, we’ll never know. Andy let a lot of people down, mostly himself.

I think before Ruiz went inactive after the Parker loss he was considered a top 10 Heavyweight. That's if I remember correctly.

I usually give a fighter props for winning a rematch where they'd been knocked out in the first fight.

Why? Why is Joshua excused for losing to a guy who:

...Wasn’t ranked in the top 10 by anyone before he beat Joshua?

...se biggest win prior to Joshua was a toss up between Liakvovich or Dimitrenko

... was dropped by Top Rank a few fights ago

... has had a long history with not being in shape

I couldn’t even imagine the reaction of Wilder or Fury lost to an unranked heavyweight. They would never be forgiven.
I don't think it's forgotten or excused but as I always say, context is important. There was always a very real question over AJs vulnerability, ever since the Amateurs. He's been hurt numerous times, it's just that he's always been able to recover. Now for me, i've never in my life seen a fighter look as strange as AJ did on the ring walk to their first fight. He took a shot, looked heavily concussed by it and never recovered. He took the immediate rematch, which in itself goes some way to lessening the blow and then proceeded to win 10 or 11 rounds of the fight, further reducing the stain. However it's still there and until he faces Wilder / Fury, it likely always will be

It's HW boxing, it happens, most reigning champions lose. I would be no harsher on Wilder or Fury, i'm sure some would be but they're likely just biased and heavily invested emotionally.

Slight correct btw, top rank did not drop ruiz, Haymon bought out the remainder of the contract as far as I can remember. I think the sum of 750k.

How is looking at every one of the rankings picking and choosing? Some had Ruiz #1 but i didn't claim he was. The one picking and choosing is you.

He avenged his loss and won very clearly. To the point of making a trilogy unnecessary.

To me he has cleared his name and it's back to business.

because Ruiz is good? He beat Parker, he beat Joshua. Are we going to pretend that he's an easy night's work for Wilder, Whyte, Ortiz, Pulev and Povetkin? He isn't.

To be fair to Joshua, Pac and Wlad took L's their fans forgave right away as well.
