Povetkin was up next, as WBA mandatory, but he was also #1 in the WBO ratings and the WBO said they would count the fight as their mandatory as well.

Which means the IBF is up next again.

But Hearn does 't want the IBF up next because he doesn't control Pulev, Arum does.

So Hearn asked the WBO not to count Povetkin as a mandatory defense, even though Povetkin was rated #1 by the WBO and had made several defenses of the WBO international title.

So now the WBO is saying it's their turn and the IBF is saying **** that.
Interesting. Do you have a source that confirms the WBO accepted Povetkin as their mandatory?

Anthony Joshua will now get two of his mandatory challengers out of the way when he faces Alexander Povetkin.

The fight, which will be live on talkSPORT on September 22, was originally ordered by the WBA and so had happen as a result of their sanction.

However, now the WBO have told talkSPORT.com that, as Povetkin is #1 in their rankings too, the bout also counts as their mandatory defence.

Joshua will let go of the WBO. Usyk will fight Whyte for that title and both are Eddie Hearn fighters.

Assuming Joshua beats Pulev, Hearn then has another heavyweight title unification. It would either be a UK super fight in Joshua-Whyte 2... or Joshua-Usyk, which would be bigger than originally thought because in this scenario Usyk beat a British hero in Dillian Whyte.
Whyte is not ranked by the WBO so Usyk won't be able to fight him for the title. It would have to be Joseph Parker or Kownacki. Hearn's best bet is to have Whyte go after Wilder or Fury after they fight. Usyk would be available for Joshua after Joshua knocks Pulev out

I actually saw Uysk and Chisora at the airport in Saudi last week and Chisora was a tiny bit taller than myself and didn't look overly imposing. (he's still a beast of course) Uysk looked freaking huge and built like a brick house.I was so surprised at how big he actually looked, his arms were the size of a mans leg. He was nice enough to indulge in a cringe selfie for me though

If Chisora can handle himself at HW, i've no doubt Uysk can too

To be honest, I can't see any of this working out in a way that's good for boxing, and good for the fans. Too many obstacles, too many stakeholders.

I can see AJ dropping the WBO belt, Usyk picking it up in some kind of throw-together fight, discussions between all of the major players dragging on into 2021, and all the while..Wilder fights ghosts and corpses.

Usyk is just going to wait for Joshua and a stadium fight in the summer. After Ruiz, where Joshua didn't get smacked around, he can fight Pulev before the end of Q1. I thought the IBF had set the date? The WBA situation is a joke.

I thought it was accepted that Pulev was next? I think Hearn even said this himself in several interviews
