  • Joshua suprised everyone tonight. Patient, disciplined, perfect jab, etc..stuck to the plan. Very good performance.

I thought Ruiz was gonna **** him out again, I never thought Joshua would pull that out of the bag. Big credit to AJ tonight.

    • It did look comical at times - a 6'6 hulking adonis sort of skipping backwards the whole fight against an obese, lumbering squat opponent.

Props to AJ for the win, but I watch HW boxing for knockouts, not point scoring.

As most fans do when watching heavyweight boxing, that's why AJ was booed at the post fight interview in the ring, then he tried to say some **** in arabic to get the fans back lmao sht was so pathetic.

He definitely deserves credit for getting the win ugly at all costs, but he lost a ton of the publics belief in his abilities as much as he proved he could get the win when few thought he would. There's no denying that AJ showed how weak his chin truly is & how much from here on out he is going to be strictly a movement hw rather than the ko slugger we know him as til now. AJ got his titles back at the expense of not having truly demonstrated that hes capable of not getting kod by Ruiz unless he evades him for 12 rds at all costs. AJ could've proved to everyone that it was a fluke by pummeling Ruiz but instead he showed he wanted no parts of Ruizs power & was more than willing to look scared af all night to survive a "easy "decision.

Ruiz took AJs soul in that AJ will never have confidence in his chin ever again unless he somehow beats Wilder. The fact AJ wanted no redemption for getting destroyed, by not even caring about Seriously hurting Ruiz & was content to avoid engaging at all costs, shows AJ will never again have the confidence(vs Power punchers) in being the aggressor & holding center of the ring while hurting opponents til a ko like he used to be known for

and a min later he's talking about the gathering and being a pastor.

i wish wilder was a brit man, he would be on chisora level funny and actually be popular for being a lunatic.

i think its the american fans...the pbc cult mentality around him which passes onto him...that spoils him.
chisora is capable of losing the plot but comes back to being totally normal.

No one says it’s better but let’s be brutally honest Joshua was thumbed and knocked out a mere 6 months ago. Most boxing experts were tipping Ruiz to do it again. I don’t care what AJ or his team says now if he had lost again that was it for him. He however stuck to a game plan that he has never had to adopt throughout his amateur and pro career. That shows discipline and as a result he is 2x heavyweight champion. A heavyweight champion that has not lost is a rarity. It’s a mean feat though

              • Wilder would ruin Joshua.

That is how bad the HW division is.

                • Clinching should not be allowed in boxing. War Wilder!
