Absolutely. Unlike Manny, Joshua did what warriors do : IMMEDIATELY rematch and avenge his embarrassing loss against a bully underdog.

He was using a professional strategy to ensure the result. He tailored his game 100% to beat Ruiz and made those who said he couldn't box, eat their words.
It was a foolproof way of regaining the belts, no risk, all reward. Not "survival" as much as supremely disciplined, tactical intelligence.

Wilder wish he had those boxing skills, when he gets into the trenches that his knockout power isn’t going to bail him out, he is going to be in a load of trouble

He was boring, more about hugging than punching. More ballroom than brawler.
Totally overrated, he was just bigger and leaned on everybody at every chance to sap their energy.

I'm British, and I was watching his every move at the time with interest. Don't forget he was a bit of a tool too.
Remember his MuMu mistical stick he got from a tribesmen to connect him with his spiritual forefathers?
It was supposed to make him unbeatable, instead it made him wear double denim, weird hats and wander off into the desert only to get beaten.

AJ would lose 9 out of 10 fights with Ruiz if he doesn't run and jump like a rabbit. The only way to win was this, avoiding ruiz's combos and leveraging on aj's superior height and conditioning.

                All the rest is inferior.

The match, for me, was uninspiring, un-amusing and actually made me angry since it was evident that aj simply was running away.

Its called boxing at range and it won him several world title belts last night.
Nothing to do with running. A boxing masterclass to a fat womble who said AJ had no boxing skills and mocked him for being a "Robot".

If Ruiz was better he would have closed off the ring. Joshua schooled him (not bad for a stiff robot with no boxing skills).

Have a Kleenex, truth is one punch to the temple (effecting equilibrium and inner ear balance) won the first fight
for Ruiz, Joshua followed a foolproof tactic to ensure he regained the titles as easily as possible.
He has never fought like that before which shows great versatility, wipe the tears away and maybe you'll see things more clearly.
