Okay then I'll take Silver Champion out of the paragraph... though it doesn't really make much difference. He still should be getting a fight with Wilder.

He's been number one ranked forever. He's mandatory. Interim champion. He's been been paying the WBC fees for every fight.

The rules say he gets the shot. He deserves it.

FEB 2021. Whyte will have been #1 for over 1200 days. Nobody can claim that's OK. That is pure BS.

Why would anyone care about Whyte right now for Wilder his next fight is set up against Fury, if he loses Fury is going to be the WBC champ anyway. If he wins sure maybe Whyte can get talked about then depending on how things play out and if a Ruiz fight or Joshua fight isn't going to happen or a trilogy with Fury.

Whyte is like forth or fifth banana and this getting "cleared" up now doesn't do much to help him because something bigger is happening next so no one cares. I would suggest he get his fat ass in shape though because he looks flabby and sick I doubt he can compete at anything close to his top form and will likely look like garbage against Wach.

Wilder likely fights Fury next. If fight goes in controversial way again, they fight again late 2020.

              Crazy.
The same casuals that say Wilder beats Whyte easily probably also kept saying Joshua would stop Ruiz in first before first fight even started. Can`t take Wiltards seriously.

Common sense says he gets his shot. The rules say they can change the rules how and when they deem it appropriate.

                I'm not even joking.

Oh I know. It's up to us as fans to keep them honest.

Any organisation doesn't define its own level of prestige. It's up to the fighters and, more importantly, the fans to decide that.

The WBC departs from its own rules so regularly that it's hardly worth having any. Add the franchise nonsense and you have a completely diminished belt. The second they award Franchise Champion to Wilder the WBC Champion bet is worthless.

Living off the glories of past champions.

You forgot to mention that Whyte ducked all his eliminators during those 1200 days. Who else can claim such a record?

Eventually, Whyte and Hearn pressed their way for WBC to agree his chosen (not WBC mandated) fight against Rivas be considered as an eliminator. I would have had sympathy with Whyte had he chosen to fight Breazeale or Ortiz instead of choosing prize-fights.

Anyway, it does appear that Whyte will finally fight Wilder in 2021. There are 4 other belts available..let's see if he can manage a mandatory position in any one of them or fight Joshua (I am assuming he'll win tonight) as voluntary. It will give an idea of how serious he is.
