I think he should just bash up Corrales and Castillo at 140, then go for the big one against Mayweather (at 140). I'm sure HBO could lure Castillo and Corrales into Hatton fights in the next 12 months, that should set up the Mayweather fight nicely. Then Ricky can put his feet up and retire a legend, after giving Mayweather the fight of his life.

thats excatly what he'll probably do. Theres good fights at 140. He would walk through most of them but a welterweight he is not. I'm sure he'd give Mayweather hell. He would rough up the pretty boy but probably still come up short.

I'd like to see him fight the Brazillian Freitas at 140 but I doubt Freitas has the balls to take that fight.

Mayweather vs Hatton is still the number one fight to be made in boxing today...At least in my opinion...I have been waiting for that since Tszyu got mamed by Hatton and Gatti got busted.

        Props on the Manfredy avatar.

          haha, thanks man.

Another good fight is Hatton / Cotto. I like Cotto alot but I dont think he's man enough to hang with an oldschool fighter like Hatton. Hatton would really take it to Miguel.

Cotto is a notch below the elite at 140 and 147 and he's the right opponent away from proving it...

Hatton/Cotto would be good but not as great as Mayweather vs Hatton...That is like my ultimate dream fight at the moment and has been for over a year just about.....

The problem with Hatton vs Cotto is that if Hatton is as agressive as he was in his previous fights excluding Collazo, Cotto could have a real fight on his hands and send him to the mat.....

Mayweather vs Hatton should have happened a long time ago, the build up would have been so great. But both fighters thought they needed to build up the fight more by taking on different opponents and today we still sit and say they should be fighting...But nobody listens even though at 140 it makes the most dollars and it makes the most sense...Its a win/win for each fighter...

I said it once and I will say it again, Mayweather vs Hatton has the makings of Lamotta vs Robinson...

good post. As much as i think Mayweather / Hatton will never happen... I will pray that it does because it really will be the fight of each fighters careers.
