There are punchers in the division like Wilder, and boxers like Fury. Joshua before the ruiz fight was kind of a boxer puncher. Ruiz is singular as a pressure fighter. pressure fighters make a puncher, or a boxer fight a certain way when they are effective. They toe the line learning how not to follow a puncher around, but keep pressuring him, making the puncher make mistakes.

Joshua and Wilder both may find themselves not able to do what they want when under pressure. Ruiz has the style to challenge both men frankly.
Very true, I agree. Ruiz will be a dangerous fight for most from now on. Fury's super reach and length make him a real challenge for Ruiz. I'm undecided about Wilder's length and reach being a big enough obstacle, but Wilder's 'sleep' ability keeps that a dangerous fight for both. Ruiz style will cause Wilder many problems if he doesn't land early on Ruiz, and he will probably need to land many times to win.

I think Usyk's boxing style and abilities will make him a dangerous opponent for Ruiz and a very hard test. Everyone else will probably be in big trouble and need to run. And Ruiz could win all of those fights depending on how he adapts.

      Nope.

But when I think a fighter will win, I'm not afraid to back my opinion up with cash.

Joshua physically doesn't have any weaknesses.

His weaknesses are all mental. His ring I.Q, his decision making, his strategy, his mental toughness and execution.

He still has some room to grow.

          Boxing is mostly mental.

It's mostly strategy and mostly heart.

The physical aspect matters, but not as much.

The closer we get to saturday, the more excited I get.

I've been seeing some interesting footage from aj's camp. He looks sleeker, slimmer, faster and more determined.

This fight might be a little different from the first go.

it's heavyweight and a lot can happen. joshua is favored for a reason. he's still about 5 inches taller, still has about 8 inches of reach, and if ruiz was in the kind of shape joshua was in he'd be a cruiserweight. and nothing will ever change that.

what joshua needs to do is adjust, and i don't know if he can do that. he's ok with big guys looking to throw at distance and look for big shots, he's uncomfortable with a guy who steps in and keeps throwing. if ruiz can do that again he will probably get another stoppage W. if he can't you'll see him get jabbed and leaned on, and eventually he'll press the gas and there iwll be nothing there.

Usyk would indeed be a real nightmare for Ruiz. That match works out splendidly for him.

Fury is just an extremely talented boxer. The reach is indeed one of his major advantages, but I think Ruiz, being a pressure fighter, does not depend on being in a position to challenge an opponent at such a range. Ruiz has to be good enough to make Fury go backwards and then attack him, and get out of their...Not easy to do.

Wilder is the one who I think could really look bad against Ruiz, provided Ruiz has the ability to keep Wilder defending. Wilder has been very fortunate to be able, in his fights, to decide when he wanted to attack with no pressure. There was slight pressure in the first Ortiz fight... I see Ruiz as being able to do a lot more of that if he is to be succesful.

A fighter like Ruiz just does not have reach. He uses speed, and fast feet to compensate.

I wish it were that easy... I stopped betting on boxing because the judges ruined it with horrendous decisions. I don't trust them. You can watch a fight play out as expected, and an obvious win, and then lose horribly because of bad judging. It is sad. I wish it worked out so one could bet and know if they execute they would win.

I just had to mention this...Not making a stand between you two guys lol, its just that I often have to tell people that this is the reality regarding judges and 'winning' or losing a fight.
