His trainer is talking so much s**t in this article. Yes he gets the job done, but it's not because he figures them out and times them in the early rounds. He uses the same strategy from round 1 to 12 - swing whenever he thinks he can land. The only difference is that as the rounds go on his opponent tires and their likelihood of making a mistake increases.

He's not P4P, he's not skilled, he's not a strategist nor does he have a high boxing IQ.

He has a lot of power and height/reach. That's it.

The fight went exactly as I had predicted and it sold 250,000 PPV's because I wasn't the only one that saw right though that scam.

lets go back and revist the threads after that fight here shall we? and watch all the sad haters, much like yourself, yelling about how much trouble wilder was in and that the doctors saved wilder and helped him! lol

FYI, I said that Ortiz had zero chance and Wilder was using Ortiz to avoid Joshua. In the end I was correct, Ortiz turned down 7 million to make 1.5 and get knocked out for peanuts.

You dont have to have him as p4p, and if you dont like his resume or abilities that is fine, but be ready for the “he doesnt fight the right way” arguments.

The one i expect the most is ‘you cant fight like that at lower weights’, as if relative power and size doesnt exist outside of heavyweight

He’s not even ranked the best in the division

The only place that does is ESPN

No other reputable place rankings him above no.2

So in that case, Fury and Ruiz have stronger claims to be on the P4P list, since all of these fighters stay in the same division?

Heavyweights have no need for the p4p rankings. The little guys can squabble over p4p. Heavyweights have no weight limit and can just go ahead and settle it in the ring.

Depends on your viewpoint. Wilder is certainly not top ten p4p if one is discussing boxing skills only. However if you broaden the parameter to include "fighting skills resulting in victory" then he is definitely top ten p4p.

Yeah I don't buy the whole thing about him setting up opponents, he really is just a terrible boxer with great athleticism and even greater power. For years I've been reading from his fan base about how his style looks unpleasant on the eye but really its very deliberate through his use of angles and set ups lol.

Anyway as far as the P4P debate goes there's no way that someone with Wilder's resume and performances can be in the top 10. P4P fighters don't drop as many rounds to sub par opposition so Wilder really needs better opponents. If he beats Fury in the rematch (without funky judging) then I think he would deserve to be in the lower top 10.

I think he has heavyweight punch but to say he's better than Tyson who could actually box is insane ,
