The only way you learn the danger and reality of it is when you finally lose big. Everyone learns eventually, some people have to lose a lot more than others unfortunately.

Any gambler used to regularly gamble on boxing for just a few years has encountered his fair share of losses and learned from it.
Unless he was chasing earlier losses, i can't comprehend how he could bet 85.K on a boxer showing up 15 pounds heavier than the first time, where he was already horribly out of shape.
