Has there ever been a fighter who's been praised so much for beating a 40 year old?

If you bothered reading my prior posts I already said many of the things you mentioned. I was not trying to say something that was going to be nitpicked incessantly, bottom line is that for whatever its worth better or worse Ortiz is considered Wilders best win & we were debating/deciding whether the 1st or rematch should be considered his best win.Spectacular, eye catching... that's like, better for Instagram or something is it?
He beat an older man than last time. He beat a guy with a loss on his record this time. He beat a guy he had already beaten this time.
Last time he was on the brink of being knocked out. This time he was on the way to being comprehensively UD'd.
I get that it's a director ending. But why would a one punch knockout be a better win? Than, for example, a dominant performance of outboxing his opponent.
Puncher's chance used to be akin to a criticism.
You wanted to know why I say the rematch is probably a more impressive win(despite him being outboxed & schooled as I previously wrote),& I repeat yet again its because the 1st time Ortiz was in worse shape & Wilder didn't almost get kod this time.
It sounds like you are arguing with someone who already made the same points you just did,I just also rightfully rate Ortiz as Wilders best win despite the downsides.Comment

Well I'll agree with that much.
Which one is better is pretty unimportant. It's like rating which of Fury's wins against Chisora was better.
Wilder's best win is Ortiz by a country mile. We didn't really need a rematch to know that.
The thing with a one punch merchant is that the eye test can't really come into it. He hits hard. Got it. But he needs to prove he can do that against the elite to be considered elite. Until he does, he's just a guy with a big punch - spectacular or not.Comment

****** thread, AJ was Christianed the future of the heavyweight era for beating an old inactive for 2 years Wlad coming off a loss at home and Thee MAN even though Fury already whitewashed a younger Klitschko who was active and a unified champ while in his home country!
Wilder deserves the praise as Ortiz was ducked by many for a reason for quite sometime!Comment
