Has there ever been a fighter who's been praised so much for beating a 40 year old?

I'm sorry but i can't think of one fighter that was praised so much as wilder. You'd think he just fought a killer when in reality he fought a 40 year old journeyman with a glass jaw who's never held a title and beaten no one worth a damn. If it was anyone else in his position they would not get the same credit. But we all know why WILDER DOES right?

This place would have been bombarded with praise had it been Fury who ended that 40-50 year old man. Some Fury fans are saying Otto is a future champ.

35-40 is the new 30-35 because the modern fighters are so protected & well taken care of they have very lil wear & tear & most fighters aren't considered truly elite til like 30 yrs old nowadays most times. You have a good majority of champs these days in their 30s rather than 20s. Most fighters in their 20s these days are considered green. Ortiz was undefeated & legit top 5 hw(but he did have many weaknesses & he did school Wilder til Wilders right hand returned the favor)

But yes Wilder is being too hyped imho off this win. But it is Wilders best win on his resume to date.

Ortiz is a legit top 10 Heavy, man, not just some journeyman. Granted I think some folk are overselling him, but it was still a good KO. And sure folk are excited, it gets like this on here after every top fighter scores a KO win, yet alone a HW champion. Tribal shit, y'know, and it's hightened because of the US / UK rivalry. You know both sides are gonna wring every drop of 'fuck you' out of every good win that one of these guys gets in retaliation for past sleights.

Edit: That said the few dudes calling Deontay the hardest puncher in history or claiming he would knock out every fighter ever probably need to up their meds.

wald was the champ and had a 10 year unbeaten run. Ortiz is a journeyman who's never held a title.

None of them got the same praise as wilder. People are making threads saying wilder beats all the greats now and kos fighters like holyfield and tyson. This is my point.

Deontay Wilder himself mocked Fury's win over Wladimir Klitschko, in Germany. Stating that Klitschko was old, "father time catches up with us all" "he didn't throw enough punches" etc etc

I will state the same thing about Ortiz now.

He's old. He has never been good. Amateur style. Father time caught up with him. No stamina. Slow as treacle. Didn't throw enough punches......

Edit: Klitschko was younger than Ortiz when Fury beat him..... but lets not mention that to Wilder, who claims he is the boogeyman of the division

                    this.

waldo was not bad, but this ortiz is an old man for for 6 rounders who was never world rated in his life.
