I've never been a big PBC fan, but if they had started out with their own belts, I would have. You have to have everybody under the same promotion or nothing will change. I love this idea and hope they pursue it. This can be the end of so many recognized belts. We'll see what happens...Comment

PBC title wont mean **** outside of
HW
SMW unless Canelo stays at 168 then nobody at PBC will ever be considered the best at 168
154- The only divison they have every good fighter
WW wont mean anything as long as Spence and Crawford don't fight.
140-135-130-126-122 -118 all dominated by other promoters
So yeah, good luck with that PBC belt...Comment

If it isn't this fight, it would be Spence vs. Pacquiao for the inaugural PBC Welterweight Title (if this is true).
A PBC Title wil be seen as a declaration of war. WBC/WBA/WBO/IBF will eventually band together to stop the bleeding (if they can cooperate with each other), but it will be tough on both sides. Forming a title of this magnitude is necessary to give the sport a semblance of order. The fragmentation of boxing will continue as long as the format continues.
PBC will be like the UFC and slowly but surely shutdown its competitors. It should've done this as soon as the Top Rank and GBP lawsuits were dismissed or even when the Fox deal was made.
Either way, it's a power move that will shape the boxing landscape for years to come.Comment

No promoter in boxing has all the talent. Also, MMA doesn’t have sanctioning bodies.
So we’re going to end up with the WBC, WBA, IBF, WBO, IBO, PBC, Top Rank, Golden Boy, Matchroom championships. Can’t wait! Awesome.Comment

there is no such thing as an undisputed in MMA, nor will there ever be, because every promotion has a champion.
If Fox Sports can convince casual sports fans that PBC is the only major league of boxing, then other titles won't matter.Comment

and up until that point, pay per pbc will be fixing the fights so theri preferred guys gets the inagural belt. it actually explains the excessive amount of "draws" on their cards,, so ****ing obvious whats been going onComment

Well said but that’s exactly what will happen with boxing
I’m just very surprised that this has not happened with every platform out there
To be honest , I really thought that Hearn in combination with Dazn would of been the first ones to attempt this
But wouldn’t be shocked to see the Bobfather/Warrren/Espn attempting the same chit
It comes down to basic business , cutting out the middleman
Although not sure how much the fans and the casual fan will buy into this
Realizing that some fighters will never face each other and also how much weight those champions will carry , cause in hindsight they have not beaten the world so to say
Keeping with MMA, the UFC is seen as the title where everyone else is a lesser champion. The closest we have to that is stuff like the WBA-R title.
If the PBC, DAZN, and ESPN(...showtime?) all have their own title and never cross promote then surely one would pull ahead of the others as the clear primer league just like MMA, no?
I think I'd be hesitant to do that if I was one of them. As long as they don't compete like that then they're all equals and the quality of champion is the quality of the man not his league.
I dunno, I think it's real interesting, but, also, just on principle very adverse to new belts if they are not a consolidation of belts.
For example, I'd love for the bodies to get together and make an official, set, path for undisputed. Just like mandos, but for unification until there is an undisputed. If that came in the form of a new belt, simply the undisputed belt, I'd love to see that.Comment
