FOX Sports: "Ruiz vs Wilder will be for PBC Heavyweight title"

It's a very strong promotional tool bud. Classically the other 16 divisions have been overshadowed by the HWs, it's not a stretch to say an undisputed HW would outshine the entire rest of boxing; it's the majority of boxing history.Comment

When was the last time the general public cared about a non-UFC MMA champion? If PBC makes their own championship eventually, they'll ignore the others and if they have the best TV exposure, people will stop caring about the others.
And nobody cares. UFC is recognized as the big leagues. Does anybody skip watching the Super Bowl because there's no undisputed champion due to the winner not playing the winner of the Arena Bowl?
If Fox Sports can convince casual sports fans that PBC is the only major league of boxing, then other titles won't matter.Comment

PBC has two fighters on the TBRB top 10 p4p.
PBC has both heavyweight champions, two super middleweight champions, two super welterweight champions, two welterweight champions and one featherweight champion.
That’s nine champions. There’s 68 championship belts out there.
You say DAZN is destined to fail because you hate DAZN. There’s no evidence that it will fail. So no, that doesn’t just leave top rank LOL.
Top Rank also has Vasyl Lomachenko LMFAO.
PBC won’t be able to thwart four sanctioning organizations, it’s very obvious.
PBC won’t have 95% of the best boxers. They have nowhere near that percentage now.
They won’t be the only game in town because ESPN and DAZN exist.
No one will only care about the PBC belt. You think all the Mexican American fans are going to stop caring about the WBC? LMFAO.
PBC already has 90+% of the top American talent. DAZN is destined to fail. That just leaves Top Rank, who doesn't have any Americans anybody cares about other than Crawford and they can't manage to get Crawford any big fights. I'm not saying Top Rank will go out of business, but they may end up the boxing equivalent of Bellator.
Sanctioning bodies have been attempted in MMA, but the UFC was able to thwart them. We'll see if PBC can successfully thwart the sanctioning bodies, if that is indeed the plan.
If PBC ends up having 95% of the top fighters and is the only boxing entity garnering millions of viewers in the US, then the US public won't care about any of the other championships you mentioned. Only the PBC.Comment

the sport of boxing could never really exist as a leagueComment

Once Wilder loses this plan will fall apart very quickly as the other situation with Spence isn't helping their cause either ,its why they have helped him along as much as they can ,doctors ,judges etc....Hope the 49 yr old ends it next week. They prevented Ortiz from going to that Joshua fight but this little scheme they got going wont last much longer ,I wouldn't worry about it really ,once wilder has his ) officially taking its the final avalanche and they know it even if Ortiz is a forced PBC guy.
To date the PBC has not created a single star, they tried really hard with Spence yet the PPV still flopped. Expect the Wilder PPV to perform poorly as well. Their fighters fight on PPV, but they're not PPV stars.
PBC belt will have the same prestige as a regional belt, a domestic belt. It will be a belt that duckers hide behind and will use it as an excuse to avoid fighting the world's best.Comment

This will not eradicate the sanctioning bodies.
We’ll just have another ****** title.

There is no doubt that this will fail. The PBC belt will hold zero leverage over someone who is an actual world champion, it will not make fighters want to fight for the PBC.
