Golovkin vs Jacobs rematch at 168

Assuming that Jacobs gets past JCCJR, I think Jacobs deserves the Golovkin rematch. He was robbed in their fight. I’m not one of the fans that dock someone points for fighting off the back foot. Jacobs was landing more power shots, but was moving laterally while Golovkin got an early flash knockdown and outlanded him primarily with jabs.

I like Jacobs better at 168 and I think it’s time Golovkin finally moves up for once. Who would you favor?

Jacobs showed more versatility in his style. He fought in the center of the ring, the back foot, landed more power punches, and avoided a good amount of Golovkin’s shots, while Golovkin kept walking forward with a jab getting hit too much. Not to mention, Jacobs even outboxed him as a southpaw.

I’m a fan of boxing and I don’t see how you can give Golovkin more than 4 rounds since he didn’t show anything besides going head forward and throwing a jab.

he landed much better punches than jacobs. what else did you want him to show you? his junk?

im one of golovkins biggest detractors...im not saying danny won or golovkin lost

but i agree that i hate people that automatically favor the guy coming forward...you can/should be able to win fights fighting off the back foot....i hate when guys score fights toward the "aggressor" or guy coming forward automatically

Of course I could be wrong but I find it hard to believe that he's making 168 without illegally crapping his brains out.

Danny got outlanded by 56 punches according to compubox...that's about what I saw too if I wanted to count...he go outlanded in 9 of 11 rounds...1 tie.

Got outlanded by 4, 22, 8, 7, and 16 punches in 5 rounds...Danny outlanded him by 5 punches and 2 punches in 2 rounds...GGG outlanded him by 1, 2, 2 and 1 in 4 rounds...one round was even.

That is looking like an 8-4 fight all day based on those numbers.

Yeah GGG has a jab that's very easy to score...I think that is pretty clear...no compubox just provides a good reference point sometimes...but yeah all you are scoring are the punches landed and their effectiveness.

I don't think Danny landed the better shots overall and he certainly didn't come close to outlanding GGG...and again GGG's jab is a really solid punch that does some good damage...it certainly seems to, and you often times notice it, as it bob a guy's head back when it lands.
