Good post...I think often times the aggressor wins the round for me...because generally the guy that is backing up, well he is doing it for a reason.

But all I score (and that should be scored really) is the punches...all the other stuff is irrelevant to me...you can win backing up as Floyd could do often...or you can win with aggression...but it just matters who is landing more and better shots.

I generally favor the aggressor but felt SRL clearly beat Hagler...another that comes to mind is that I did have Fury-Wilder a draw, which was closer than most...but I also didn't really give Fury extra credit in those first 6 rounds when he was landing 8 pitty pat shots to Wilder's 6 punches either...just scoring the punches landed in the first 6 rounds, I didn't see Fury putting on any clinic.

when did this happen though? golovkin was getting much better leverage on his shots by stepping in while jacobs was always looking to step off to the side. golovkins shots were landing much flusher as you could see jacobs head snapping around while most of jacobs shots were actually blocked/partially blocked by gggs high guard, of course he landed a good one here and there but i dont know what you are seeing. then when you compare jabs it was no contest. a stay away from me jab vs a head snapping jab.

I'm not against the rematch, but that time has passed. Sergey is the hot name right now who deserves a rematch, assuming Canelo doesn't fight his balls.

And you can claim that the fight was close, sure. But robbed? That's just laughable. You're not gonna find 7 CLEAN rounds to give to Danny. He got dropped, outlanded, and lost a close fight. That's about it.

He wasn't robbed and omly GGG haters claim he was robbed. It was not that close. It was a UD and the fight was in Jacobs's home state. GGG won by 1 point on one card and several points on the other two card. He landed more punches by count and scored a knock down. Jacobs's trainer admitted Jacobs lost it was NOT a robbery but a deserved win for GGG. Jacobs has not looked that good since then. Your remark that it's time GGG finally moved up brands you as a GGG hater. What the hell difference does it make to you if a ***ing middleweight stays at ***ing middleweight?????? Two of the greatest middleweights in history stayed at middleweight their whole career. Their names were Hagler and Monzon. Maybe you heard of them. I saw the fight and GGG won. Your bogus account of how the fight went is you trying to sway opinions in Jacobs's favor. I pick GGG to win again in a rematch at 168.

I almost forgot Jacobs skipped the morning weigh in and GGG did not skip the morning weigh in. The fight took place very late letting Jacobs gain a lot of weight and outweigh GGG an estimated 10 pounds. GGG would be stronger at 168 and Jacobs would have no advantage in a rematch at 168.

2- close, nick it to Danny
3 - clearest round so far for GGG
              4 - KD
              5 - clear GGG
6 - maybe some shoe shining by Danny but it was his I think
              7 - close
              8 - GGG
              9 - GGG
              10 - Danny
              11- close
12 - it was over by this point but most would say it was GGG's

Only mentioning the cards since all the judges had the first 10 rounds exactly the same..except 1 gave round 7 to GGG and 2 to Danny...it wasn't even a hard fight to score.
Your description of the round by round scoring makes it sound anything but easy.

Of all the guys Golovkin fought Derevyanchenko has the strongest case for a win over him. That's the fight I'd like to see. I wouldn't mind a Jacobs rematch but Derevyanchenko earned and deserves a rematch no question.

Yeah not trying to be rude...by maybe you are newish to the sport and haven't really scored many fights or something.

But yeah in a competitive fight, it will often go 10 or 12 rounds...and in those rounds there are often 4-6 close rounds, that are hard to split...I feel best practice in general is to more or less split those two close to call rounds.

But in some fights you can go 12 rounds and have a lot of clear or close but clear rounds...that's how this one was...again as evidenced by the fact that all 3 judges scored the first 10 rounds exactly the same...apart from the 7th round...all the judges had the fight over after 9 rounds.
