Canelo has probably got the nicest wins on his resume. Squeaking out a split decision against GGG and Lara (fights that a LOT of people still think Canelo lost) doesn't scream p4p number 1. Canelo doesn't dominate fights at the top. He dominates vs guys like Khan Chavez Fielding or whatever.

I'll probably catch some hate for this post but I'm just trying to be realistic.

Cotto is better than Rigodeaux in terms of overall career. Not when he fought Canelo and when Rigodeaux fought Lomachenko. Cotto wasn’t a top 10 p4p fighter when he fought Canelo. Rigodeaux was when he fought Lomachenko. Also, Cotto was his best at 140, three divisions below where he fought Canelo. Rigodeaux moves up two divisions to fight Lomachenko.

Russell Jr. And Walters are definitely better than Liam Smith and are arguably better than Lara, Jacobs, Trout and Kovalev, who Canelo has tough fights with.
Now you went full rëtard. You're an idiot.

Btw, p4p fighters don't lose to the likes of Salido.

Linares better than those you mentioned, lol, what an idiot.

It's not just Marquez who is critical of Canelo. By the way being critical is not hating. Chavez Senior, Eric Morales and Nacho Beristain have been critical of his opponent selection and other things. Those are some heavy hitters in Mexican boxing. If you were to ask them about Canelo's talent level I'm sure all of them would say it's very high. However they aren't going gloss over his approach to boxing just because he was born in Mexico.

alvarez needs to unify at 175 if he even wants to be considered P4P otherwise he's just another scrub

Resume is a bullsheet argument... not only were the fighters in said resume systematically targetted by Canelo and his team for having a vulnerability or for being in the twilight of their career, the fights for the most part were too close to be considered P4P#1: Two controversial fights with Golovkin, a close fight with with where he won by a single round, a close fight with Lara he should've lost but got the nod because of ridiculous scoring... I could go on. P4P#1 should put on dominating displays against mandatorys and vulnatories winning by wide unanimous decisions or KOs. This is not Canelo!
