Kov was shot to ****, clownelo was beating his ass so easy, it was like nothing. Like bro, kov better save that 12 million dollar payday he got, it's the only thing he going to be living off of for the next 40 years.

Canelo is a MUCH better fighter now than he was back then.
He's improved somewhat yes, but that's one of his go to moves. Whether it's explosive or not most of his opponents don't anticipate that quick counter. They either get hit with the counter, shell up, or retreat. Mayweather proved you can disrupt that counter by keeping him occupied with a jab or being faster than he is. Not everyone has those skillsets but Kovalev has a much longer jab than Mayweather. He also wasn't anticipating many of those counters and Kovalev's reflexes are shot.

Canelo's upper body movement with counters is on top of the sport. It has been like that for a while already. This is nothing new when top fighters get in there and all of the sudden the fights slows down because of his sharp combination counters.

He's a good boxer but he's clearly overrated.

Until he actually puts someone good on his resume, he's looking like smoke and mirrors to me.

We saw the same with Broner, Victor Ortiz, and so many more. Guys who have all these knockouts, then fight someone like Maidana and get revealed for what they really are.

Kov was throwing but he had to watch out for counters.

If he'd lasted to the end with his early tempo he might well have won it with that.

Its now well noted that Kov, being a man breaker, can also be broken in spirit himself.

lmao Kovalev looks like he's trying really hard not to hurt Canelo.
