But Kovalev didn't even try to throw right hands, doe. He took a dive.
At least that's what some of the geniuses on BoxingScene told me.Last edited by ShoulderRoll; 11-10-2019, 11:33 AM.Comment

People fail to remember that boxing is a science.
For every action there is a reaction.
If throwing out a jab gets you countered with multiple shots back, your natural instinct is to not throw as much.
People that DKSAB are always wondering why a guy doesn’t just throw wild shots the whole fight. That’s what gets you knocked out quick in this sport.Comment

The classic case of speed vs power.
Really not a threat for Canelo.
That's why I dont really rate the win too much. He moved up, great stuff. But it wasnt the most dangerous fight he could have taken.
You dont move up to fight Jeff Horn and claim it as a contribution to the legacy.Comment

Nah.
GGG's problem is that he isnt an highly active guy anyways.
He throws punches at a slow rate of output. Canelo only had issues with it the first time because Canelo was trying to put on a boxing clinic and failed, getting stunned a few times.
Second fight. Canelo just backed him down, didnt let him get much off, and threw 3 to GGG's 1. Winning dominantly.
Kovalev is just a bigger GGG and Canelo used the same blueprint in that one as well.Comment

Canelo made Kovalev gun shy with those sharp af counters
GGG, Jacobs, Kova, they all threw a record low amount of power shots against ginger because they were wary of getting countered
but morons here who hate on ginger will claim it was all fixedComment
