I can't believe that I'm actually going to defend ggg. While this fight sucks, it is a mandatory.

I would rather see Golovkin rematch Derevyanchenko but I guess the thinking is get this manditory out of the way so he can move on and not face a roadblock making a third fight with Canelo. At some point going forward win or lose he should rematch Derevyanchenko. I can't see him beating Canelo. His age the judging etc. are not on his side. I haven't seen much evidence that the new trainer is helping him. IMO he won both fights against Canelo so he's taking this fight for revenge and obviously the money. Hopefully he fights like Donaire trying to win and not like Kovalev who was just happy to get the big cheque.

The IBF has not ordered this fight, and even if they did it would be easy to circumvent because unifications trump mandatories. He has a 160lb champion calling him out, he fights on DAZN, same promoter, ANDRADE.

They know he has zero chance against Andrade, they won't even entertain the idea. Because if he gets beaten soundly, like we all know he will, that kills the trilogy for good.

GGG is actually the one that DAZN should be angry at for the trilogy not happening in September. He had a chance to set up a middleweight clash for UNDISPUTED against Canelo, all he had to do was beat Andrade earlier this year, but no he chose to fight Steve Rolls, cowardly move. Canelo clearly told him to get a belt, by that he meant fight Andrade!

The problem here is that Canelo fans are demanding that GGG protect Canelo from Charlo and Andrade. Canelo could fight these guys as well. He ducked them at 154 when they were champions and now he's ducking them now. Canelo didn't want to fight Charlo so they made him the Franchise champion so he didn't have to.

Canelo was asked about Andrade and he said Andrade was a boring fighter that no one knows. Canelo told him to get a belt so GGG got the belt that Canelo was stripped of when he ducked Derevychenko. Yet GGG is the one accused of cherry picking.

Whether you like it or not Canelo is the guy that insisted on a title. Well Golovkin has a title with the IBF that previously stripped Canelo and Golovkin for manditory problems.
