Canelo knocked Kovalev the F out!!! Period. There’s no he’s fed opponents talk or he’s protected talk that can be supported by this result. He went up in class against a former champ and won decisively. I didn’t think he could do this but he did it. Canelo deserves respect

Kovalev after the fight:
“I was tired after Round 6 because I had my last fight very close to this one," said Kovalev, who defeated mandatory challenger Anthony Yarde by 11th-round knockout on Aug. 24. "But it's OK. It's a new experience for me. Canelo is really a great champion. I didn't recover from my last fight. But it's OK. Thanks for the fight, Canelo. I have big respect for him. He made history."
I'll be back. I'll be back much stronger," Kovalev said. "I know that I can be a unified champion. Nobody wants to fight me in my division. This guy (Alvarez) is more fresh. He came into my division more fresh. He has more stamina, but it's OK. It's a good experience for me."
I don't think anything he said here is untrue. Canelo knew Kovalev was ripe for the taking and I'm not going to give him more credit than he deserves here

I'm truly amazed at how many people are giving Kovalev points/rounds for those pitty paddy non punch jabs he was throwing. You guys gotta change your scoring criteria. Had it been a solid jab, i get where you're coming from but a lot of the punches kovalev was throwing where inconsequential. Score clean effective punching above all else and you'll see how canelo was winning.

Saul did what he needed to do. Kov looked drained, tired af. Wrong game plan. Hats off to Saul for getting a great k.o. I favor him over bivol at this point. Vs Beter, 60/40 in favor of the the crazy Chechnyan. Saul might bring back my critical ass

Ok so I'm not the only one who thought this was a bull***** fight. The whole damn thing looked staged to me. Kovalev's tap tap punches. I won't be convinced that Canelo is for real until he beats a prime hungry champion. I give no credit for this bs fight.
