That looked staged as hell.

First Ward fight Kovalev won 7-8 rounds and was robbed, no excuses.1. Stop right there. If we're not talking about the KO, then what are we talking about?
1a. You can't throw a fight in one breath, but not mean to get KO'd in the 2nd breath. Either you're fighting for real or you're not.
1b. How many videos, posts and logic have you casually skimmed over where people have broke it down for you and explained why Kovalev wasn't throwing hard punches? IT'S BECAUSE HE WAS BEING COUNTERED SINCE THE FIRST ROUND. You've been on this site for how many years and still don't understand the significance of a counterpunch and how it makes one react when landed? Translation - It's designed to make the opponent GUN SHY, which is why Kovalev was reluctant to fully commit. Jesus Chris, this site.
2. You didn't answer the question. Were you one of the guys who made excuses for Kovalev's first 2 losses? Am I right or Am I right?
2nd Ward fight had multiple low blows throughout and was stopped on a sequence of lowblows.
That being said, it had nothing to do with Kovalev’s bad performance against Canelo.Comment

and the only two times he did, he stepped back and touched gloves with Clenelo.
One of the shots to the body literally took Clenelo off the canvas in the air, after that, Kovalev seemed to realized he did what he was not supposed to do.
Only Clenelo ****-riders think this wasn't a fixed fight.Comment

I know Kovalev didn't try to win. No way he did. He is known for throwing hard shots and this is the one and only fight I have ever seen of his where he didn't. Then, when it looked like he hurt Canelo a little bit, he backed off immediately to allow him to recover. He had it pre-arranged not to KO Canelo and he would lose a decision, respectfully. Nobody told him that if Canelo get's a chance to ice him, he will. Or maybe they had that discussion too?UPDATE NOV 18th
Thanks to Jubei for providing us with a video of Kovalev talking post fight about how only ignoramuses could believe Kovalev could win in this thread.
This was indeed staged. Kovalev was claiming how he was ready to win in the pre-fight but Kovalev came to lose. He himself did not believe in his victory and did not try to win. And his performance showed it. When I said staged, I was talking about the fight, not the KO moment. And his whole performance was indeed a joke.
He spit on all his fans by doing what he did. Prior to the fight he was saying how he is in shape, ready to defend HIS division, and now he says how he was completely drained barely able to make weight, without any rest, and in zero condition to fight on a championship level.
Here is Jubei’s thread and video:

That thing looked staged a/f.
EDIT: Talking about the fight as a whole here. Not just the KO moment. From the very beginning, Kovalev was limp and throwing shots without any power on them at all. He fought like he had zero intent of winning the fight.Comment

Exactly. He purposely tried to allow Canelo to see the final bell where he was to lose a decision. I'm just wondering if he knew Canelo would knock him out if given the opportunity? Now looking back, Canelo sure showed a lot of sympathy to Kovalev after he knocked him out. And he was not at all disrespectful to him in the build up to the fight either like he has been every single other time he was moving towards a fight.and the only two times he did, he stepped back and touched gloves with Clenelo.

Yup. Canelo even looked worried after the knockout and gestured at the crowd to be silent.Exactly. He purposely tried to allow Canelo to see the final bell where he was to lose a decision. I don’t know if it was fixed or not but let’s be fair, Kovalev is at the end of his career, got paid $15m, which is mega money for a guy that never had huge payday fights...and has court dates coming up.and the only two times he did, he stepped back and touched gloves with Clenelo.

He even said before the Yarde fight that he’ll take that Canelo fight because it secures his kids lives.
So, whilst i’m not saying it’s fixed, I think a lot of guys in Kovalev’s position, looking at securing their retirement fund could be talked into taking a dive for $15m for sure. The fact is, outside of your Canelo’s, Floyds, Manny, AJ etc..fighters don’t get $15m paydays, especially not when they’re faded.
How many on here would be willing to fix a fight to know their kids futures are secure and knowing your career is nearly done anyway? - i’d say a lot, if we were put in that position.Comment
