nobody else ever fought Oscar at 145/145/145

145 two weeks out... 145 at the weighin... 145 on fight night

it is clearly obvious what happened

Roach, whispering to Pac when he noticed the IV marks on Oscars arm at the weighin: .......... " we got him "

it was the UNPRECEDENTED $3.5m per-pound, or part thereof, weight penalty

the only bigger weight-penalty in recorded boxing history, was also made by Pacquiao... on Floyd Mayweather

it was $10m per-pound, or part thereof... and Floyd signed immediately

Floyd was a welter... Oscar, was not

People made excuses for Oscar because they couldn't believe what Pacquiao had done.

But Pacquiao's level was confirmed with Hatton and then Cotto.

      145lb Cotto... ?

" I will not sacrifice my body again for Pacquiao "
      ~ Miguel Cotto

WBA junior middleweight champion, Miguel Cotto, has made it clear that he won't fight Manny Pacquiao at the welterweight limit of 147-pounds, where Pacquiao holds the WBO title. When the two boxers fought in 2009, a catch-weight of 145-pounds was mandatory in reaching the deal. Cotto was stopped in the twelfth round of that fight. For the rematch, which has a tentative date of June 9th in Las Vegas, Pacquiao refuses to fight Cotto above 147. This time around, Cotto will not give in. Pacquiao has to fight him at comfortable weight limit.

Yeah, easy to make for a 140lbs guy.
Didn't Cotto also come in at 146lbs against Clottey, his fight previous

Pacquiao offered the fight at 143 first, Cotto said 145lbs, and the deal was done.

Pacquiao made the same deal to Mosley as well.

Yes and Mosley was offered the same deal as Cotto.

              Cotto took it, Mosley didn't.

Its like after Pac proved that he can be pretty dominant at WW, that people suddenly forgot how ridiculous the fans and media though of the fight and how much criticism ODLH received for such a blatant cherry pick opponent.
Truth right here. Analysts were worried Pac would get killed in the ring. He went from the most egregarious cherry pick to the complete opposite. Haters then crafted the story that Pac dragged ODLH down and weight drained his fishnetting ass, lol.

that is why everyone started calling pac the catchweight-king

that, and all of those mid-level Top Rank junior-welters who got dragged up to 144

Cotto wasn't going to fall for that trick again

"Shane came to the gym twice to ask me to let him fight Manny," Roach says. "I told him no both times, and both times for the same two reasons: First, there isn't enough money there, and second, you're too good a fighter." - Freddie Roach

No he was not. Mosley even offered to fight at 140 and they turned it down.

                      https://www.******.com/121505-mosley...meet-pacquiao/

                      ring tv

"Manny Pacquiao and Miguel Cotto seem to have arrived at a sticking point in their negotiations to meet on Nov. 14: Pacquiao reportedly wants a catch weight of 143 pounds, Cotto wants it to be 145.

And one swirling rumor has it that Pacquiao is getting fed up and might look elsewhere for an opponent.

That might open the door for Shane Mosley, who has been pushing hard to fight the No. 1 attraction in boxing and announced Friday that he’d go down to 140 pounds if that’s what it takes to get a crack at Pacquiao’s RING junior welterweight title."

                      Stop lying.

Mosley was the #1 WW and lineal at the time. Pacquiao wanted none of it after seeing him destroy Margarito.
