Nothing official was reported, just pure guesses from bribed schmoes. Meaning, it didn't do well.

PPV# are always over-exaggerated. No one gives a damn about boxing.

Every Fox PPV so far has done great numbers. Which makes sense considering Fox affiliates in almost a hundred million homes are forced by Fox to play all of the hype shows promoting the PPVs. Just because Wilder vs. Fury was able to charge higher ticket prices due to being a heavyweight title fight doesn't change the fact that Fox's hype would result in more PPV buys for the Spence fight.

There was way more interest in Fury vs. Wilder. It was at least 3x bigger according to Google Trends. The California commision didn't release ticket sale numbers for Fury-Wilder, but according to them it was considered a sell out. Meanwhile, Spence-Porter had thousands of unsold tickets. Since interest was lower, the Fox hype would have only been enough to put them on par with the Wilder-Fury ppv buys.

These 'ethical' journalists were also saying that the attendace was over 17,000. They always report exaggerated numbers because that's the numbers promoters give them. Nobody has ever been fired for reporting innacurate numbers. If it was so immoral to be a promoter shill then guys like Dan Rafael and Steve Kim would have been fired a long time ago.

The number of comps should be easy to find. Same as the live gate. You posted neither. Instead you guess at a number and then say well people lie. Well, you're people too.

How about you post the figures and if you are wrong, admit it.

Fury vs. Wilder was bigger among existing boxing fans, but Fox's nonstop hype during major sporting events has proven successful at converting casual or non-fans. Hence less google buzz, but more buys. The average joe ordering a fight on DirecTV because Fox told him it was a big deal isn't necessarily going to do a google search about the fight. Also, a lot of the online traffic for Wilder vs fury took place after the fight was over when the "Undertaker" moment went viral.

The comp numbers for Fury-Wilder are not easy to find actually. The commission only disclosed the total gate and said it was sold out. For Spence-Porter tickets sold + comps was 14,061 which would leave it short of being a sell out and from the 17,000 attendance which was originally reported. Live gate for Spence-Porter was $2.2 million, for Fury-Wilder it was $3.5 million.

The impact Fox had is just speculative because the sample size is so small. They've only had three boxing PPVs. None of the Fox hype helped the UFC increase their numbers compared to when they were on Spike. Most of the traffic for Spence-Porter came after the fight also, because it turned out to be a fight of the year candidate.

Oh my god Dan Rafael and Steve Kim aren’t shills either.

I’m sorry they don’t fight battles against promoters you don’t like LOL.
